Comal River, New Braunfels 4K Drone (Landa Falls to Tube Chute) #Comal Nomadic Gear 2023-04-18 | I went out to the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas and filmed the entire stretch starting at Landa Falls by Wurstfest and ending at the San Antonio Street Bridge just after the Tube Chute and Float In. #Comal #ComalRiver #ComalTexas #NewBraunfels #FloatingRiver #TubingRiverI used the DJI Mavic Air 2 drone to capture the complete aerial view of that first half of the river and filmed two angles of each segment: one looking straight forward at a low altitude and one angle looking straight down to capture a bird's eye view of the people floating in tubes.There were some random angles I captured as well when I was out there so I used those shots quite a bit towards the end - I just thought it'd be missed if I didn't include them. I shot it all in 4K at 23.976 frames per second and colored the shots as well. I lived in New Braunfels from 2019 until 2022 and shot tons of footage with my drones while living there: I plan to slowly release these videos, especially as changes are made to the landscape to show the before and after. For example, I shot the construction (as it took place) for Wurstfest's new building and Marmon Mok (the architect) hired me to create a start-to-finish video. I recently shot the new parking lot on Hinman Street by Wurstfest so I'll make a before and after video for that stretch of road.Let me know if you like this video, I'd love to hear your thoughts because I plan on finishing the entire river to make a second video from the San Antonio Street Bridge to the Last Exit for tubers. DJI Osmo Action 3 (Raw Footage) - Fredericksburg, Texas Nomadic Gear 2022-10-13 | This was filmed on the DJI Osmo Action 3 action cam and it was shot in Fredericksburg, Texas at the Altstadt Brewery and at Silver Creek Beer Garden and Grille.I didn't color anything so it's all raw and I didn't add music - I left the audio raw.Shot at 2.7K at 24 FPS. Raw color mode at 5000K color temp.I personally loved the look - it's quite similar in quality of image to the DJI Osmo Action 2 camera but the design is the best yet - they went back to the Osmo Action 1 which is a huge deal. The Osmo Action 2 design wasn't great in my opinion. Magnets are great too. I noticed the exposure on auto adjusts wildly sometimes but sometimes it wasn't noticeable. The Osmo Action 1 was one of my favorites and I felt the exposure didn't dip in and out of dark/bright as much as the 3. DJI Osmo Action 2 vs Osmo Action 1 - 4K Magnetic Lanyard TEST Nomadic Gear 2021-11-10 | This was filmed with the DJI Osmo Action 2 camera using the Magnetic Lanyard - so from the point of view of my chest. Additional footage was captured on the original Osmo Action camera to compare the two. All shot in 4K at 24 FPS in the D-Cinelike setting with De-warp on (no wide angle). I minimally colored some of the shots to show the contrast from raw footage to colored. First time to magnet fish and I took out my little magnet set up to Cypress Bend Park in New Braunfels on the Guadalupe River. It's a nice spot that I go fishing often but I mainly wanted to test out the Magnetic Lanyard for hands on footage, like setting up a fishing pole and throwing the magnet. Gruene, Texas views from a DRONE (New Braunfels 2021) Nomadic Gear 2021-09-28 | This was filmed in Gruene, Texas on September 27th, 2021. We live in Gruene which is a historic town that sits on the North end of New Braunfels, Texas. It has a unique charm because of its German heritage that began brewing in the 1840s and continued into the late 1800s as the Gruene family continued to grow the population that was based primarily on cotton. This gin is now the famous Gristmill Restaurant that you can see in the photos below the Gruene water tower. The even-more-famous dance hall is the white building that says "Gruene Hall" on the intersection (also below the water tower in one of the photos). By the mid 20th century, Gruene became a ghost town and eventually got back on the horse to attract many travelers and townsfolk as they passed through the Texas Hill Country. There are tons of historic buildings dating back to the 1800s and they are now used as restaurants, bars, boutiques, antique shops, general stores and all kinds of establishments. You can spend hours here and absorb the relaxing vibes and hear local live music. Fishing at Chalk Bluff Park - Catching 40+ Fish (April 2020) Nomadic Gear 2021-04-04 | This was filmed at Chalk Bluff Park in Uvalde, Texas in early April of 2020. In the summer of 2019, Brandi and I lived on Oahu for 3 months and we decided to hop on a cheap flight for $300 RT to visit Hannah in Australia with our fellow nomad, Chrissy. We had to check out the sunset on the lighthouse hike at the bay then off to the famous and historic Byron Bay Brewery itself.Once we made it to the Gold Coast, Black Hops II was our first stop on the GC brewery tour and we had the pleasure of meeting Head Brewer Gaz who showed us behind the scenes. Donostia in the Basque Country (Drone in San Sebastián) Nomadic Gear 2020-12-03 | This was filmed in Donostia of the Basque Country in Northern Spain. The Spanish name for the city of Donostia is San Sebastián. Euskadi is the Basque word for the Basque Country. Donostia is in the Gipuzkoa province and sits along the Bay of Biscay that runs along the countries of Spain and France. Brandi and I visited Donostia and the general Basque region in June of 2017 road tripping along the coast for a week. This city on the sea ended up being our favorite for its history, natural beauty, coffee shops and cafes. There seemed to be a vibrant life floating around the streets. Old Town or Parte Vieja had our attention - you can spend hours on foot exploring without seeing all of it. Episode 5: Maui - Maui Brewing Co, Kohola Brewery, Jaws Country Store Nomadic Gear 2020-05-20 | Show Us Your Brews! features unique coffee shops and local breweries from around the world. We love coffee. We love beer. And we definitely love to travel. Our fifth episode of Show Us Your Brews! brings us to the Hawaiian island of Maui. In the summer of 2019, Brandi and I lived on Oahu for 3 months and we decided to hop of a cheap Southwest flight to visit Maui with our fellow nomad, Chrissy. 1. Maui Brewing Co in Kahana2. Maui Brewing Co in Kiheinomadicgear.co/post/show-us-your-brews-episode-5-on-the-hawaiian-island-of-mauiOur priority was coffee and beer so we had to check out all of the breweries scattered across the island as well as the quaint tropical coffee spots. Maui Brewing Co in Kahana was first on our list to see their oldest, still-operating location. We followed this by going to the Kohola Brewery which is actually now brewing in Maui Brewing's OG spot. Hey, we got to learn some history while drinking the island's best brews. Nearly every day while on the island featured a visit to the Jaws Country Store for coffee and brunch. We fell in love with this outdoor spot and highly recommend it. Most people stop here before venturing out on the Road to Hana. We end the episode at Maui Brewing's flagship Kihei location where all their beer is brewed - an awesome place to hang out and watch the sunset. Maui has some great brews and the local businesses keep the tropical atmosphere on point.
