I've had this layout and theme in my head for over 2 years now, and this design competition was the perfect opportunity to realize it. The theming was inspired by a Parkitect Diorama Competition entry (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2940518343&searchtext) as well as Pandora at Animal Kingdom. Enchanted Escapades won runner-up for Best Attraction.
The story is that riders are going on a tour to see the fabled Whispering Shadow (a dragon that lurks in the caverns), run by Cornelius Conmane's sketchy tour company, Enchanted Escapades. A magical floating carriage takes riders into the Shadow's den allegedly for the tour. In reality, Cornelius is trying to use riders as bait by having the dragon chase them, which will leave the nest empty for Cornelius to grab the valuable eggs.

I was also inspired to design and render a new Wild Moose layout, based on the old Jazz Railway (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_Railway, the precursor to the wild mouse coaster). My goal with this layout was to take RMC's specialties and retrofit them for a family-friendly audience (outer-banked pre-lift and pre-drop sections, off-axis first drop, trick-track double down and triple down finale). This layout concept fits into the same footprint as the current Wild Moose and can also run 3 trains, with a maximum theoretical capacity of 900 riders per hour (a dispatch every 48 seconds). For the render's theme, I was inspired by one of my old projects (a rustic summer camp set in the Rocky Mountains).

This month, the layout to theme was Catapult Falls from SeaWorld San Antonio, an Intamin log flume with a launch and elevator lift hill. My teammate and I went with a coastal Polynesian theme, centering it around an ancient volcano steeped in legend. One half of the template is rocky cliffs lined with lush tropical forests, while the other half is a series of oceanfront islands.
We also decided to fit a small coaster into the template. Poino Kiai (Hawaiian for Guardian Curse) is a Vekoma Family Boomerang inspired by Luna and Accelerator. The layout weaves through the volcano, log flume and pathways quite a lot. The on-ride POV of Poino Kiai starts at 1:41.

For the theming, my goal was an industrial, grand-but-gritty steampunk city inspired by various sources. The story is since Calderaburg was haphazardly built (the factories came first, then the people), there wasn't enough space for conventional railways - Steam Runner is the city's public transportation. Steam Runner draws its power from the local hot springs (steam), with a station at the steam-to-electricity factory. The on-ride POV of Steam Runner's first half starts at 0:43. The on-ride POV of the second half starts at 2:20.

Mainly inspired by Steel Curtain and Hyperion, I tried to design a unique, new-age "mega-looper" layout with both inversions and sustained airtime. The supports were very challenging, especially for the Outer Banked Dive Loop over the roundabout, so I'm proud that RipCurl earned 5th place out of 22 contestants. The on-ride POV begins at 0:56.
