In the video, I explain the basics of how it works, and you can also check the links below for more information. This is why Mario Kart 7, along with a few other "end of life" games, randomly got an update in December 2022. This exploit is so powerful that it could run code on another player's console remotely without their permission. This would allow for the hacker to take total control over every other player's 3DS. Many things could be achieved using this, such as installing custom firmware, editing other players saves, bricking their consoles, stealing their stored personal info, taking pictures using the camera, and endless other opportunities. This was discovered in 2016 and reported to Nintendo in 2021. However, they failed to acknowledge it's existence or patch it until December 2022. Many games are still unpatched to this day.
It's a good thing this was finally patched, but Nintendo has made a lot of mistakes in this regard. This should never even have been a thing in the first place. Much less, how did they not find out about it until 2021? And why were they so slow to respond with a patch? If this was released publicly even for a week, endless damage could have been done before they even have time to release a patch.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask them below. I am not the most knowledgeable person on this, but I know enough to talk about it.
By the way, the game in the video is NSMB-MarioVsLuigi. It is an open source, multiplayer remake of NSMBDS multiplayer mode. You can get it here: github.com/ipodtouch0218/NSMB-MarioVsLuigi

The most common symptoms of this are flashing colors on the screen, a solid single color, or corrupted graphics when loading a game. With how old the system is, many people are experiencing similar problems with reading cartridges. In this video, I'll be showing you a few different ways of making sure your system is able to read games, including replacing the entire 72 pin connector on the motherboard. This process is not as hard as it sounds, and I've shown the whole process on video. You will need nothing more than a standard Philips screwdriver to remove the 72 pin connector. To clean everything, you will need some 70% - 90% isopropyl alcohol and some Q-tips. I have a link below to purchase a new connector where I got mine from.

This will affect the future of SX OS, SX Pro, SX Core, and SX Lite. It's unlikely we will see any updates for these in quite a while. The modchips will most likely not be manufactured anymore. At this point, it's best to switch to Atmosphere and avoid this mess altogether. If you are interested in switching over to Atmosphere, see the bottom link below.

This works on the latest firmware (11.13) on both the Old 3DS and New 3DS, and is 100% free as well. This exploit is as simple as copying some files to your SD card and then visiting a website on the Internet Browser! It's been a while since we've had something this simple that works so well. We can finally relive those times.
If you don't want to scan the QR code every time, then you can type this direct link into the Internet Browser: zoogie.github.io/web/nbhax
This method will be added to the 3DS Hacks Guide soon, according to the website owner. This can be used to install Luma3DS and B9S for free, which is a pretty big deal since all of the current methods require a DS Flashcart, a hardmod, or a DSiWare game.

This tool called Wumiibo will take over the Amiibo module on the 3DS and allow you to load your own Amiibos from a file on your SD Card. This will show you the full guide on how to do it. These Amiibos will work the same as any normal figure, except you will not need to have a figure/card to use it. They can be configured on/off from the menu and a different figure can be chosen from inside the game. Once again, this method is 100% free and you don't need to purchase anything to make it work.
If you have any questions, leave a comment down below or ask on the GBAtemp thread.
~~~FAQ~~~ Q: Does this work on Old 3DS? A: Yes, this should work on the Old 3DS. It might not be perfect, but should work.
Q: Do you need the NFC adapter for this? A: No, this is a rewrite of the NFC module so it will spoof the Amiibo directly from the source.
Q: Is this being updated/improved? A: Yes, it is. It was just released very recently, and the developer seems motivated to keep working on it. You should check for updates on the Github page or the GBAtemp thread.
I found this on eBay for around $25 + shipping, so $30 was the final price to get this at my door. I did not expect this to be good enough to use as my daily capture card. Matter of fact, it exceeded my expectations.
I don't have a link to this specific product. The original listing was removed, and there is no way to search for this product since it is unbranded. I tried to find similar products on eBay, but it seems the cheapest comparable result is around $70 + shipping, so nowhere near the $30 I paid for this.
This will allow you to bypass slow FBI or network installation speeds. You also will not need to copy the CIAs to your SD card initially, so this will come in handy if you have limited space available. Overall, this tool will be much faster and more convenient than a normal CIA installation. This is the best way to install games onto the 3DS currently.
This video will show you how to dump your unique movable.sed, boot9.bin, and seeddb.bin files from your console as well. These unique console files will only need to be dumped once, and then you won't need to do it again. You can simply run the ci-gui application and install CIAs right away next time. This makes CIA installation very easy and convenient.
I didn't really expect this to work when I made it, because it was surprisingly easy. But it does only work as host. If you use this as non-host, the entire lobby will DC and you will not be able to continue playing the match. This code also does not negatively affect other people's versus ratings. Therefore, this code is actually improving the economy for points in Mario Maker. As the average points go up, the more points you will gain for wins, and the less points you will lose for not getting first. Since this code is at no one elses expense, it is improving the average points. Pretty weird, but it is indeed true (although this minuscule difference is negligible in a large economy).
I won't be releasing this since it will disrupt online play heavily. Disconnecting from matches is never fun.
Different games will utilize the system differently, and this tool can help you optimize the speed of your hardware. This tool will allow you to have a different profile for any title you want, which makes this easy for anyone to use.
~~~FAQ~~~ Q: Can this damage my console? A: According to the sys-clk GBAtemp thread, they have "added safety measures and chose limits to ensure that overclocking cannot damage your console."
Q: Is this easy to do? A: Yes, it is as easy as copying a few files to your Micro SD Card.
Q: Can I get banned for this? A: Overclocking isn't known to cause bans. You are more likely to get banned for doing other things on a hacked console.

This code is useful for people who like to listen to other music while playing videogames (like me). It is also good to remove copyrighted music for YouTube videos and place non-copyrighted music over it instead, while keeping all other game sounds. I made this code mostly for personal use, so I can play multiplayer versus while listening to other music. Sometimes, the game will start to play a music file, but stop shortly after it. This code will also sometimes cause other sounds to not work properly. Regardless, this still works very well for what it is.
This code is not detectable by Nintendo online, so if you already have a hacked Switch, there is no additional risk of being banned at all even if you use this online (won't affect other plays of course). It doesn't even write to a memory region that is checked during online play.
This code below is an improved version from the one shown in the video. This one will disable all game music from the source, instead of forcing them to be disabled.

This method is 100% free and very easy to do once you understand the process. LAN installations have significant advantages over normal SD card installations. You don't need to copy the files to your SD card, and you also don't need to split the files for FAT32 support. This can also reach higher speeds than normal SD installations in a proper environment. After you follow this video, you will not need to take out your SD card to install NSP/XCI files anymore. It can all be done from your computer.
For installing game backups, you will need to install signature patches. This is very easy to do, simply select it from the option below USB install. I forgot to show this step in the video. However, it will not harm your Switch if you don't do this, it will just cause games to not install.
~~~FAQ~~~ Q: My game backups are not installing/running! A: Make sure you have signature patches installed (do this from Awoo Installer), and make sure the game is not corrupted.
Q: Could this get me banned? A: Installing pirated games could always get you banned. Personally, I have not been banned after over 3 years of Switch hacking.
Q: Is this safe? A: For the most part, yes. Be careful when choosing what to install. Do this at your own risk.
Normally, this can be done by simply going to the home menu. However, that will cause you to lose points. This code will allow you to keep the same amount of points that you entered the match with.
This code is useful because it is good for the economy of points in Mario Maker. The higher the average points of players is, the more you will win and less you will lose. In the long run, if everyone uses this, it could help improve it quite a bit.
This is useful for creating game mods or learning how the file system works in that game. In order to do this, you will need a CFW installed that has access to the Homebrew Launcher.
Dumping game files is very useful for many reasons. You will be able to extract music from games and listen to it in other places, extract models/textures to view their details or import them into other games, see how the game internals work, and much more!
This should be a pretty straightforward guide, but as always, please comment below if you are having any issues. Like with any other Homebrew tool, this requires Atmosphere to be installed. Below is a link to help with that if you are just getting started!
This code will allow me to press a button to enable lag in the online matches. I can configure exactly how I want the lag to be. I can make it horrendous, moderate, or just some small spikes. This code does not cause any harm to the network or other people's connection. It will artificially slow down my game, which in return causes other players games to slow down as well. To avoid a ban, I did not bother messing with any netcode. This version works very well for the purpose it was created for. This code is not detectable by Nintendo, and I can guarantee it will not cause a ban.
I can make the lag much, much worse than what was shown in the video.
This code won't be released for obvious reasons. We don't need people using this online all the time. People already use network lag switches or data speed reducers, but I think I am the first person to make one using the Atmosphere codetypes.
There are several improvements to the code. First of all, it will no longer copy Z coordinates as those are not necessary. Instead, it will save all the relevant camera data. This alone already helps quite a bit. Combined with a No Clip code, this will work pretty well most of the time. I don't plan on updating this code in the future unless I find a way to improve it significantly.
This requires the use of a no clip code to work properly, or else you may die when teleporting to the goal. The code is available in the video linked at the bottom of the description. It was pretty hard to get this code to work properly on every level style without any problems. I had to do some slightly advanced things with the codetypes to be able to compare 2 values in memory. I might make an explanation post/video with this code in it. Let me know in the comments if you want to learn how this is made (It's not as simple as just copying the flag coordinates, although that is the basic premise).
To anyone who thinks this will "ruin the game" or something: This doesn't work in multiplayer, and there are already plenty of hacks and codes available for people to steal level world records, Ninji Speedrun records, or do other kind of hacking. This will do nothing except make hacked times more obvious, which can be a better thing so Nintendo can remove them faster.
This can be useful if there's a tight jump or if you want to see what's down a pit without committing to it. This code would be a lot better if Atmosphere codes actually executed faster. It's actually pretty pathetic, they execute even slower than Gateway did on the 3DS, and Gateway was not necessarily known for executing fast. Also, SMM2 doesn't like when you change your coordinates. It can cause you to get stuck on walls sometimes and it isn't the most stable thing ever made. This code should work on all versions of the game, but it was tested on 1.3 (latest).
This works in any game mode (Level uploader, story mode, online courses, etc). The only problems seem to happen in 3D World, where you need to take damage or reload the zone to update your Power Up state. I will not be fixing this since it will add unnecessary lines to the code for all other game styles. If you really want to fix this, all the values you need to search are below. The result will be in the HEAP + 0x926XXXXX area.
If you try to use a Power Up in a game mode that it's not designed for, things might not go so well. Do so at your own risk. Some of them might work while others will crash.
Tested on Build ID: e7101fe3bb2c4bac
[Power Up Modifier] 04100000 926090F8 000000XX 04100000 9260FAE8 000000XX
Replace XX with any of the values below.
Any style: 00 = No Power-Up 01 = Mushroom 02 = Fireflower
Note: Hats != Power Ups. You cannot use this code to add any of the new hats in 3D World, that's a completely different code. And that video will be coming out soon!
This code works in all courses online, for game versions 1.1 through 1.3 (latest update). This can be remapped to A by changing the first line of the code to 80000001.
This should work on every enemy that gives you a stunlock when they land on the ground. An ASM version would definitely be better... but you can thank the Atmosphere codetypes for not having that ability (and for also not being able to write every frame or every other frame). This code should work on versions 1.1 to 1.3 (latest).
Usually, only two fireballs can be thrown at once before it prevents you from throwing any more. This code will allow you to throw/spam as many as you want. This code works on versions 1.1 through 1.3 (latest).
Normally, when you upload a level, it requires you to do a clear check to prove that the level is possible to beat. I will be hacking star power during the clear check so that I will be able to get past the spikes and still live. This level is impossible to beat without hacks, and if no one hacked, it's guaranteed to have a 0.00% clear rate forever.
Since this video was filmed, the level has been deleted for safety reasons. I don't plan on uploading any more impossible levels. This was simply a proof of concept to show that it's actually possible and to see what happens when you try to upload an impossible level.
This allows you to have offline backups, and you can also edit and restore them at any time. This works with many games, but some certain games will not work.
Atmosphere or another supported CFW is required for this to work, as stated in the video. The first link below will help you install Atmosphere.
(+How To Avoid Bans)DarkFlare2020-05-05 | In this video, I'll be discussing the situation with Switch banning and the likelihood of you getting banned from hacking your Switch. I will also be showing you some ways to try and prevent yourself from getting banned. This topic has been requested a lot, and many people worry about being banned.
The latest version of Atmosphere now has Incognito built into it. You should not use the Incognito homebrew application unless you use SX OS or another CFW. For more information, please read: github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases
Some extra ways to avoid being banned: -Use Stealth Mode in SX OS -Delete connection settings completely in emuNAND or wherever you do hacks (or use 90DNS) -Use emuNAND (Still reduces risk a little, but not by much) -Accept the ban and buy another console for legit use and use the banned one for hacking
This works in all levels, except for the editor. I won't be releasing it since it doesn't work in the editor. I made this code using the same method that I showed in my Unknown Cheat Search tutorial. If you want, you can watch that video here: youtube.com/watch?v=a5y0bAvQdU4
This works in all tested game modes. I made this code while making a tutorial on unknown searches with SX OS. If you want to see that video, please let me know in the comments so I can finish it up and release it.
It works on Atmosphere or SX OS. To get the blinking effect, you need to poke the value (or enable and then disable the code; either works). Otherwise, you might not be blinking depending on how fast the code writes to memory.
EdiZon allows for memory searching and cheat loading.
This video will cover searching for known values. If there is a visible number somewhere in the game, you can search for it and find it using this method. If there are any internal values that you know the number for, you can probably search for those too and find them.
At 6:29, I said that the ++ and -- were incremental and decremental. It turns out that isn't actually how it is in EdiZon, it just means "greater than previous value" and "less than previous value." In programming, ++ and -- mean incremental/decremental (add or subtract 1) so that's where the mistake comes in.
If you need information on how to set up EdiZon and format your txt files, the first link below will cover everything you need to know.
Since this claim is completely false with no substance to it, they selected a larger portion of the video (47 seconds) and I had to either trim that entire segment out or keep the video blocked worldwide permanently. Appealing would get nowhere since YouTube's copyright system is broken. Most of those 47 seconds were on my PC, and all of it was commentated over and 100% fair use. I apologize for the inconvenience. Nintendo is known to take advantage of YouTube's broken copyright system on hacking related videos all the time, even if they are completely fair use. There's nothing I can do about it.
In this video, I'll show you how to set up cheats with EdiZon on your Switch. EdiZon is a save editor that also has the ability to modify the RAM of a game. Many people have made codes for this, and this video will show you how to download and set them all up. To do this, you'll need Atmosphere installed on your Switch. There is a link below to the official guide that will teach you how to do that. EdiZon was designed to work directly with Atmosphere's cheat system, so that's why this is required over SX OS or a different CFW.
Their execution was terrible, to say the least. This game mode is riddled with problems which I'm going to discuss in this commentary video.
All of the clips shown in this video were random clips recorded with the Switch capture feature, so that can explain the lack of quality. They were not in much of an order.
It has been a terrible experience from this perspective. However, there are a lot of pretty fun games. Unfortunately it is impossible to enjoy those games since these hardware flaws cause such a big hindrance to the experience.
Also, the clear times for these SMM2 levels were so high because I am playing with about 150ms of latency due to using the OBS preview as my screen, so there were many controller failures. That's also why I can't really record these types of levels consistently even though I want to use them as background footage for my videos. The raw footage was about 45 minutes long because I can't do very many precise jumps or time things correctly with such a delay.
Let me know any problems you've had with the Switch below! It doesn't necessarily have to be hardware flaws. Anything at all.
We made this plugin with customization and compatibility in mind. That being said, many of the codes can be customized to allow the user to enter their own values (such as coin count modifier) or choose exactly what they want (such as Power-Up). All codes should be region free and work on any version of the game. If there is any problems, feel free to report them in the comments section below or in the official GBAtemp thread.
There are many different codes than what is showed in the video. These range all the way from fun/destruction codes to practical codes. We plan on adding more in the future.
