► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

---Pelé in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup #shortsRenata Pereira2022-12-30 | Pelé was among the most celebrated players in the FIFA World Cup, despite not even being in Qatar. He's beloved in the country he only visited once, in 1973, during a trip with his club Santos.
Pelé is regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time. Both FIFA and the International Olympic Committee consider him the Player of the Century. Time magazine also included him in the list of the 100 most important people of the 20th century. Pelé scored 1,279 goals in 1,363 games, which is recognized as a Guinness World Record. He's the only player to win the FIFA World Cup 3 times (1958, 1962, and 1970). In his native Brazil, he's known as the king. Pelé has passed, but his memory lives on in all football fans.

---Is QATAR in the Persian Gulf? #shortsRenata Pereira2022-11-17 | Qatar's location seems obvious to most westerners, but in the Middle East, the Persian Gulf is mainly known as Arabian Gulf. This is probably the #1 comment I got in my first video in Qatar: youtube.com/watch?v=5v3nsMm3BP0
Here goes the detailed explanation: the naming dispute started in the 60's. This body of water is historically and internationally known as the Persian Gulf, but Arab governments refer to it as the Arabian Gulf or The Gulf, and other countries and organizations have begun using Arabian Gulf. Yes, there's a rivalry between Iran and some Arab states. Persia was historically the common name used for Iran. Today, both are considered correct.

---The last supermoon of 2022 #shortsRenata Pereira2022-08-12 | The last supermoon of the year 2022! Here's the beautiful Sturgeon Moon on August 11th. A supermoon occurs when the moon is within 90% of its closest approach to Earth. It appears as much as 30% brighter and 14% larger than usual. This time, the full moon coincided with the peak of the best meteor shower of the year, but in most places, the brightness of the moon outshined everything else, including here. But at least we saw the moon 🌚

---This hotel offers UNLIMITED drinks, and it’s not an all-inclusive #shortsRenata Pereira2022-08-10 | This hotel in Cancun, Mexico, offers unlimited drinks, and it’s not an all-inclusive. The Aloft Cancun has a 12-hour open bar, which they don't advertise. We only discovered that after check-in. The room cost is not even more expensive compared to similar options in the hotel zone. The Aloft is not oceanfront but has a great location if you're interested in the Cancun nightlife.
Curious about the price? Here's the Aloft on hotels.com: renatapereira.tv/cancun-hotel Also, in short, this was our trip from Cozumel to Cancun.

---Playa del Carmen, MEXICO: why you must visitRenata Pereira2022-07-24 | Playa del Carmen is a charming beach community in Mexico, well-known for its laid-back atmosphere. In addition to enjoying the beach, you can see cenotes (freshwater sinkholes) nearby, go for a stroll on the touristy Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue), and obviously, enjoy the fantastic Mexican food.
But can you do that without breaking the bank? As prices in Playa are sometimes in dollars, you quickly realize that many things mainly cater to foreign tourists. And yes, you absolutely can. And you can have a great time.

---This is Mexico City!? Heres why Condesa, Roma Norte and Juarez will surprise youRenata Pereira2022-06-04 | La Condesa and Roma Norte are among Mexico City's most charming neighborhoods. Here you find a lot of parks, historical constructions, nice cafes and restaurants. And in Juarez are 2 of the most sought-after places for Instagram pictures in CDMX: the Wings of Mexico and the Angel of Independence.

---USA to Brazil: $185 round-trip for twoRenata Pereira2022-05-05 | This is how we traveled from the USA to Brazil spending US$45 per person to go all the way to the interior of the state of Sao Paulo. After using air miles for the flights with Delta Airlines, we only needed to pay the plane/airport fees and the domestic transport within Brazil. We ended up getting 4 modes of transportation - plane, train, subway, and bus - and taking 32 hours to reach the final destination, a city called Ribeirao Preto. It may seem a long time, but flying within Brazil would have only saved an hour due to the wait time for a connecting flight.
This is a trip we do at least twice a year but never shared the details here on YouTube as we normally turn on the "vacation mode" to visit family. Now you'll see the full adventure 😉. And if you're wondering why the extra $5 for the full round-trip ($45 x 4 = $180), that's because the bus on the way back was slightly more expensive.

---Nighttime in Orlando, Florida? Consider visiting KissimmeeRenata Pereira2022-04-08 | What can you do at night in Orlando? Have you ever thought of Kissimmee, Florida? Visiting the World Food Truck Park and Old Town are great ideas, especially for those days when you don't go to a theme park. In this video, you'll see what to expect.
The World Food Truck Park is well-known for Caribean food, and we tried 2 Venezuelan dishes: parrillero and sospe. We close with a fantastic Puerto Rican shake. Then, just across Hwy 192 you find the Old Town. It's the recreation of a typical Florida town back in the days. On Saturdays, they have the Classic Car Show and Cruise, which makes the visit even more fun.

We wouldn't miss another chance to stop at In-n-Out burger, so we did it on the way to Point Loma, in southern San Diego. We visited Cabrillo National Monument and closed the day admiring the views at Sunset Cliffs.
San Diego is a charming city in Southern California, very worth it to combine with a trip to Los Angeles. To summarize, in this video we drive from north to south, and you'll see some of the most famous areas in town: La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Point Loma.

---3 days in SAN DIEGO, California - travel guide day 1Renata Pereira2022-02-24 | San Diego, California - Travel guide to the Embarcadero, Coronado, and the Gaslamp. San Diego is a lovely coastal city in Southern California, and these are some of the best things to do in town. At the waterfront, you find the Embarcadero, and you can visit the Maritime Museum and the USS Midway Museum. There's also Seaport Village, with nice shops and restaurants. Being downtown San Diego, you can easily get a ferry or drive to Coronado island, and enjoy both coasts. One has the best view of the San Diego skyline, the other has the fantastic Coronado Beach and the traditional Hotel Del. For the nightlife we chose the Gaslamp Quarter, which is actually within walking distance to Seaport Village, and you have so many options for a fun night out.

---Universal Studios Hollywood - Wheres my camera? 😬Renata Pereira2022-02-12 | Universal Studios Hollywood is a very fun theme park in Los Angeles and one of our favorite theme parks in the world. Here you find some of Universal's most famous rides like Harry Potter, the Mummy, the Simpsons, Transformers, etc. but also some unique experiences you won't find in Orlando or Japan, like the Studio Tour. Universal Studio Hollywood is a real film studio, where they still shoot movies, series, and TV shows.
But we also had a surprise towards the end of the day, that could have left us without our main camera. Come discover why.
