Sherry BThe group challenge for October is to create an Autumn/Fall themed painting and include something from nature/the outdoors.
It's been a busy month for our regular painters this month, so not everyone will have completed their challenge pieces by the time we go live. Links will be added here as each of them complete their challenges, so please be sure to check back here for the other links and watch the other group videos.

In this recipe I used my Basic Recipe: • 1 part Golden GAC 800 ~ http://amzn.to/2tSkEFq • 1 part WELL-SHAKEN Flood Floetrol ~ http://amzn.to/2hns5U5 (it’s cheaper at stores that sell house paint) → always put these in the container first, then add the paint ← • 1 part of the following types of paints ~ Liquitex Basics Acrylics ~ http://amzn.to/2vhQ7p8 ~ Liquitex Soft Body Acrylics ~ http://amzn.to/2w5DH17 ~ Jacquard Lumierre Acrylic Paint ~ http://amzn.to/2vVVOqo ~ I don't like the way Heavy Body Acrylics (Golden or Liquitex) work for flow painting ~ I haven't tried Golden Open Acrylics yet • shake or stir well I mix these up in huge batches becuz Ball jars seal up almost air tight ~ in the past I've been able to keep paint in them for well over a year. This recipe is almost always the right consistency so I don't include water. I also don't put silicone in the mix because it breaks the mix down over time. You can see the how-to-mix video here 👉🏼 youtu.be/grk5dLWA1UA Other times, I use different paints/mediums/ratios ~ you can see all my current recipes here 👉🏼 http://www.studiopashnada.com/flow-paint-recipes (as an Amazon Affiliate, I will receive a commission if you purchase thru my links) or watch me mix them up here 👉🏼 goo.gl/iFxbpe

My studio is in what used to be our study. It used to be in a guestroom and before that it was in the dining room. I just keep reaching for more space cuz, as you'll see, my art supplies are EVERYWHERE. And this video doesn't even include what's in storage ottomans, in the guestroom closet & under the beds. I also couldn't show you my encaustic work area cuz my husband took the table to use while he works from home.

Very few of us can afford to try every recipe so I wanted to share with you an inexpensive recipe that will allow you to get your feet wet to see if you like it.
This recipe has never failed me whether I want a lot of cells, or very few. * 4 parts good craft paint ~ .....I prefer Delta Ceramcoat ~ amzn.to/2uEkZ4H .....or DecoArts Dazzling Metallics ~ amzn.to/2UPJlDz * 4 parts Flood Floetrol ~ amzn.to/39sOWnm * 1 part water Then add one drop silicone per 2 ounces m.o.l. for cells ~ amzn.to/39sOWnm
I mix these up in huge batches becuz Ball jars seal up almost air tight ~ in the past I've been able to keep paint in them for well over a year. This recipe is almost always the right consistency but sometimes you need to add a bit more water when you go to pour. I also don't put silicone in the mix because it breaks the mix down over time.

You don't need everything shown in the video and there are plenty of other supplies you can use. You probably have some of these supplies already as they can be used for so many other mediums & techniques. You need the wax, the gel & some colorants, as well as a way to apply the wax & then take it off.
