It’s been great to work with so many people on this project, those who stayed through the whole time, those who joined and had to drop and those who came in to help get us across the finish line. Some of these parts were created back in 2018, I’m so glad we finally get to present them. I am proud of what we were able to create, and it wouldn’t have been possible without every contribution. Amen was conceptualized as a character study for Crookedstar, in particular his relationship with his faith, and with grief. The script and final presentation of this project, while compatible with canon material, is not perfectly accurate to canon. Instead the challenge I proposed with this song was to depict an emotionally compelling retelling of his story, with the purpose of capturing the complexity of his grief and the tragedy of loss. He endures a great deal of loss, his father, mother, leader, wife and two daughters at birth, and eventually his brother and his third daughter in her childbirth, all seemingly in events beyond his control and at times seemingly because of his actions. Eventually he learns the cat who promised him leadership was not from Starclan at all, but a vengeful spirit who tried to break his heart with a lie to separate himself emotionally from those close to him, as punishment for something his ancestors did generations ago. He breaks ties with Mapleshade and has to learn to become close with those he has left and to reconcile with the grief he has for those he has lost. Grief takes over his life for a time, until he recognizes his surviving daughter needs her father. I needed to get this out before I update my current project with the list of selected animators, but also for my own sanity. Work This Body Part 21 AlexHarrier 2018-11-29 | For Peppermint Pretzels' map! youtube.com/watch?v=2IHugBGSqqkI had this idea about Rowanclaw and Tawnypelt having a relationship prior to his transition, and then he comes out to her during his deputy-ship. I think she would have been a wonderful supportive Bi. All in all I think they're a great LGBT power couple. Edit: there seems to be a multitude of people who are confused by this concept. In canon, printed in the books, Rowanclaw was originally introduced in the allegiances as Female. The authors later changed this character to be Male, stating candidly that they had always meant for Rowanclaw to be Male, they had just printed the books (an entire arc's worth!) incorrectly. so, lots of fans like to headcanon Rowanclaw as trans, Female to Male. In my mind this still honors the authors intent, as for some trans individuals experience life always feeling they should be a gender they are not originally identified by. equally they may go through a series of identities before they find one that fits them comfortably, so in this video I propose that Rowanclaw pre tranistion was already in a w|w relationship with Tawnypelt, when he then decides to come out to her revealing he is male. This would also provide evidence for Tawnypelt being bi (my personal headcanon), making the "lgbt????" in this video 'l' 'b' and 't'.thank you for coming to my ted talk, if you are not a fan of LGBT interpretations of warriors characters, that's cool and fine, but it's well within my and other's rights to interpret characters this way (or others!) if we like, because it's fanfiction, have a good day.Edit 2: no one has commented about this yet but I just realized that Rowanclaw doesn't become deputy until Night Whispers, several books after he and Tawnypelt have kits. So the depiction of him here as deputy is inaccurate, but lol that's what happens when there are 47(?)full books now, not counting all the novellas, Field Guides, and Mangas, and the nature of him not being a character that was even written into a book until he was in a relationship. Summer Solstice Map WIP AlexHarrier 2018-05-14 | The progress I've made on this in the last week. It's looking pretty good! I really love Arizona, and tried to get the Terra Cotta feeling in the farmhouse that's so popular near Pheonix. Fun fact, most of my mother's family lives in arizona, so during summers I used to stay at my grandmother's and pick grapefruit for breakfast from her tree, and swim in the pool from sunrise to sunset. I've learned a lot since I began, which I tried to capture by comparing old progress to new in this video. I want to thank Fayescribbles for allowing me to finish these two parts despite their long overdue status. They've been incredibly patient throughout all of this. Firestar was the first character to lead me into the Warriors universe more than 10 years ago.
