This is where piloting skills really come to the forefront. Hats off to the pilots ! All these peoples lives in their hands. Absolutely tremendous skill from them. My heart was pounding by filming it , can't imagine what it must be like being in the plane. I did filmed these videos at London Gatwick Airport from 8am till 5pm. Here are some highlights. At one point for about 40 minutes no one was landing due to a very strong winds and heavy rain. Dozens of Go-arounds . Lots of flights were diverted to other cities and cancelled. Emirates flight EK15 on Airbus A380 waited 45 minutes in the hold up area near Brighton for the landing clearance. TUI Boeing 787 Dreamliner Reg (G-TUIB) tried twice to land and then diverted to Manchester airportEunice brewed in the central Atlantic and was spun up from the Azores towards Europe by the jet streamA gust of 122mph - measured at an exposed point on the Isle of Wight - set a provisional record for EnglandIn aviation, a go-around is an aborted landing of an aircraft that is on final approach or has already touched down. One of the Emirates Airbus A380 pilots asked me to film his arrival from sunny Dubai in United Kingdom. Here is the result. The wether was horrible , strong crosswind and heavy rain. It was a downpour at London Gatwick airport on Tuesday 15 November 2022. At some point I had to stop filming , very very poor visibility and my camera was soaked . But after couple hours the weather suddenly improved and I did managed to film this beautiful takeoff from wet runway. Amazing and beautiful water spray ! The Met Office has issued three yellow warnings for rain until Friday. The unusual design translates to greater efficiency, up to 40 percent better than other airplanes in its class.Piaggio's design has been around since it first flew in 1986, but the aircraft struggled to find its way into production. Eventually the airplane was saved by an investment team led by Piero Ferrari. Today the P180 is seen as one of the most efficient and innovative business airplane on the market. And it's no surprise the Piaggio is the airplane used by Ferrari's Formula 1 operation.The two rear facing turbine engines push the P180 to a top speed of more than 450 miles per hour. This is more than 100 mph faster than a similar sized turboprop aircraft and even faster than several jets in its class. Beautiful water sprays from an aircraft engines during take-offs and landings. The footage was filmed in May 2022 . Gatwick airport was covered with very heavy rain and thunderstorms for around 30 minutes , no landings or takeoffs during this time. Few cancelations and flight delays. The runway dried so fast , I did managed to capture only few takeoffs and landings. I was totally soaked.
