Shot in stunning 16mm black & white, this film was the brainchild of Dorn Martell & Erik Iversen. Shot in an abandoned factory in downtown Detroit, it features scenes of the now torn down Central Iron Foundry, with brilliantly conceived sets handmade by Dorn Martell, Peter Hackett and Chris Hoffmann.
Camera work by Mark Malboeuf, Jim Parker, with an assist from Sean O'Dea. I shot the second-unit scenes of Zug Island and power plants near Detroit on a Bolex. Richard Roy and friends did us a huge favor by designing the wonderful title and credit animations.
Chris Hoffmann, who stars as the "Man in the Radio", and alter-Jerry, is the developer of the Ryno electric uni-bike now making waves. Chris and Mark Malbouef composed and performed the soundtrack, which compliments the film marvelously. The film won over 20 awards here in the States, as well as overseas. © 1987 Shadow Films
