eRR0RqMy obligatory Infinite TST stacking video for Tetris Effect. Usually, T-Spin Triples are the most effective way to score points. T-Spin Doubles and T-Spin Singles have a better points per cleared line ratio but you must combine them with Tetrises (at least one Tetris every 5 T-Spin Doubles). However, the Zone mechanics completely changes that calculation.
Firstly, lines cleared during the Zone don't count towards the total amount of cleared lines in your current level. When freestyling (mix of T-Spin Doubles and Tetrises), you can move all the Tetrises towards the Zone, and only use T-Spin Doubles outside of the Zone.
Secondly, the most effective way to use the Zone is starting it when it is only filled at a quarter circle (every 10 lines on expert difficulty). Tetrises are a quick way to clear some lines while in the Zone. So you end up with more cleared lines plus you get to the Zone score multiplier more quickly. If you don't max out the zone meter, then each line clear during the zone scores as many points as outside of the Zone ... until you have cleared 8 lines from which point onwards everything counts doubled (including drop points). If you start the Zone with Tetrises, then the second Tetris will already score doubled (as will every following line clear). If you start the Zone with T-Spin Triples, then you need 3 T-Spin Triples to reach that multiplier - and that's almost impossible in a short Zone.
Thirdly (is this even a word?), the overhang required for T-Spin Triples limits your options. In case of Tetrises you can build a T-Spin Double on top of that and you can execute them in any order. In case of T-Spin Triples my only options are to chain it into a 4 wide or to build a Tetris on top of it (to reach the multiplier more quickly but that blocks of the execution of the Triples). I think I tried the latter once or twice in that video but you need a lot of luck to pull it off. And if clearing Zone lines after the T-Spin Triples, it's hard to get back to the Infinite TST technique (and you lose back-to-back which matters a lot).
For comparison, see Wumbo's current record for expert difficulty in the Tetris Effect demo. He got at least 40,000 more points than me and that's all thanks to the performance in the Zone. I think he always reached Perfectrises (17 to 19 cleared lines in the Zone) while I usually clear about 6 lines. youtube.com/watch?v=lC64wv_-DXQ

This time the first 2 bags are stacked differently and the I pieces are placed on the left side (this should work better under high gravity because of SRS kicks). youtu.be/sMKnPzmM2v4
Game is the PC version of Puyo Puyo Tetris (Steam). I start on level 12 speed because higher levels result in more line clear points and that's the highest level I can still handle. This technique is the easiest way to get 1 million points in 150 lines Marathon. It's not as effective as ZT Stacking or Infinite TST because you lose the back-to-back bonus from time to time - but it's even more repetitive / brain-dead than those techniques. BTW the 1.33 million points you see under highscore were achieved with Infinite TST. youtu.be/PDe9I8qjU64
Here's a Fumen showing the first 2 bags and how I try to burn the pieces of a single bag. You need some luck for the burnings, especially for the one with J and Z pieces. http://tinyurl.com/y5srr2k4
I basically try to repeat one of the following 2 steps:
a) place 13 bags in the usual way whereas one whole bag (6 pieces) and 3 I pieces are placed in the middle. This will burn 12 lines whereas ideally I get 2 Tetrises. b) place 4 bags in the usual way whereas the I pieces are placed in the middle to achieve a Tetris.
Step a) will keep all columns at the same height except for the I piece column which will grow by 4 filled cells (12 TSDs + 12 burned lines = 36 cleared lines, 13 bags will fill 13*7*4 cells = 364 cells) . Step b) will keep all columns at the same height except for the I piece column which will shrink by 8 filled cells (4 TSDs + 4 burned lines = 12 cleared lines, 4 bags will fill 4*7*4 cells = 112 cells).
I first use step a), then step b) and then step a) again. This will use 30 bags and clear 84 lines (ideally 28 TSDs + 5 Tetrises + 8 smaller line clears), resulting in the same stack as at 0 cleared lines. For example, compare 0:28 with 4:02 - those stacks have the same shape except for one I piece placement.
Summarizing: this technique is not guaranteed to work but with some luck it can be repeated/looped multiple times. It's not as score-effective as some other looping techniques (which aren't guaranteed to work either) but I don't know any T-Spin loop that is as simple as this one.2 T-Spin Double loopseRR0Rq2019-04-10 | Game is Jstris (with modded graphics). Both T-Spin Double loops were inventended by Korean sub20 player Riviclia. youtu.be/IGldK0xG9GE , youtu.be/LAsUFTa1YrE
Those looping patterns should work in every Tetris game with hold feature and bag randomizer (almost every official Tetris game since 2002), as long as gravity doesn't become too high. Here are 2 fumens showing how I want to stack each bag. http://tinyurl.com/yxheydem , http://tinyurl.com/yy39ve6h
Note that you cannot stack infinitely in both cases because T-Spin Double-only makes your stack grow by 8 filled cells per bag. However, there's a high chance that you can stack for a long time with the first technique, if you burn lines from time to time properly.
Also note that both techniques aren't really meant to be used seriously. All that softdropping makes the execution rather slow - especially in official games. And techniques like Infinite TST or ZT Stacking have a higher efficiency.

I spent many hours trying to make "Infinite TST" work (e.g. setting up a Tetris above the T-Spin Triples). Then I switched to "freestyle" (do some improvised T-Spin Doubles, otherwise Tetrises) and scored 30k more points after just a few attempts, and that despite of missing piece colors and maxed visual effects. Note that I am good at Infinite TST but average at best with freestyle. So, it's save to say that freestyle works much better in Journey mode.
You should try to do something like this: Leave a column empty in the middle and stack some T-Spins above it. After a while, you have a Tetris prepared. Don't execute the Tetris yet - just continue with T-Spin Doubles until a quarter of the Zone meter is filled. Then stack the Tetris column up to at least height 8 and also try to fill the sides to the very top. Then start the zone and score 2 Tetrises. All lines cleared during the Zone will not count towards the level's line goal and once you've cleared 8 lines in the Zone, you earn points twice as fast (the second Tetris already scores twice as many points as the first Tetris). Finish the Zone with a further Tetris, T-Spin Double or a combo.
You can also try to leave a column empty on the side (instead of the middle). I did this a few times after building a T-Spin Triple tower. This makes the execution of T-Spin Doubles harder but works better under high gravity.Perfect Clear Ultimatris (Tetris Effect)eRR0Rq2018-11-03 | Playing the demo (only avaible this weekend). Some months ago, the name Decahextris went viral. Tetris Ultimate had introduced some new names afterwards: Perfectris if clearing 17 to 19 lines while "in the Zone", and Ultimatris if clearing 20 lines. My goal in this video is not to score high (I think you have to make T-Spins and Tetrises in this case) - I just try to achieve an Ultimatris followed by an empty board (perfect clear). I divided the playfield in 3 areas: the left 3 columns, the right 3 columns and the center 4 columns. Every piece was placed entirely in one of those the 3 areas.
Note that under circumstances, it's possible to clear 21 lines while in the zone with a similar approach like shown in the video. You would need an insane amount of luck though (clearing the last 2 lines with an O piece, filling the 4th and 7th column with the previous pieces): http://tinyurl.com/y85x4z5j
edit: Someone did 21 lines. Apparently, you can increase your chances by using Initial Rotation. youtu.be/aD_3ako5amI

In case of T-Spin Doubles it's true for all blocks in the entire field. However, in case of T-Spin Singles, only the blocks below the line clear get disconnected (if you clear the row with the lowest T piece cell).
This causes a strange bug where the top part can become floating. In this video I build a setup where each column had four empty cells below the T-slot. As a result, the top part stops falling in midair, 4 rows above the bottom. Note that in normal Tetris it is not possible to get completely empty rows with some filled cells above.
My second and third T-Spin Singles cause further avalanches - my stack still keeps floating. The third T-Spin even disconnects all blocks in the bottom row of my setup - without any consequences; only the remaining block of my T piece falls to the bottom.Decahexatris outside of Tetris EffecteRR0Rq2018-07-18 | 1:11 Tetris Worlds (16 lines cascade) 3:04 Tetris Worlds (16 lines cascade) 5:50 The New Tetris (16 lines avalanche) 9:05 The New Tetris (16 lines avalanche) 10:00 PSP Mini Tetris (18 lines scanner) 10:55 PSP Mini Tetris (16 lines scanner)
Tetris Effect comes with a new feature called the Zone. While you are in the Zone, completed lines are transferred to the bottom of the playfield instead of being removed. This allows to clear more than 10 lines at once. The maximum number of counted lines are 16 and that's called a Decahexatris.
However, there were a few other Tetris games where such a thing was also possible. First, there're games with "cascade gravity". In normal Tetris, each block/mino falls down by as many lines you cleared below it (this can result in floating blocks). In cascade Tetris, each cluster (blocks/minos connected to each other, usually the remnants of a piece) will fall down as far as it can. I've shown a Tetris Worlds (2002) mode in this video. Further examples are the pay-to-win game Tetris Blitz, the galaxy mode in the mobile Tetris app (which resembles the former game Tetris Stars), the Tetris Friends mode Rally8P and the fan-made client Quadra (1999). In some of those games you can even clear more than 20 lines - depending on how you count. Here are 2 Quadra videos where players got a Perfect Clear after clearing 14 lines at once, as well as videos showing the other mentioned games and modes.
Then there's The New Tetris. The first game with Hold feature and also the first game that rewarded T-Spins in one way or the other: If you make a T-Spin Double, all blocks/minos get disconnect and fall all the way to the bottom (like in cascade Tetris) That's also called an avalanche. In case of a T-Spin Single, only the minos below the line clear get disconnected. Avalanches are bad for scoring, so nobody really cared about using that mechanics.
Then there's the scanner mode in some EA titles. I've shown Tetris for the PSP Mini but there's also Tetris for the PS3 (see video below). In scanner mode, completed lines stay where they are until the scanner becomes active. In earlier levels lines are removed every 4 pieces and in later levels every 12 pieces. There'll be also a cascade after the removal. Since completed lines are not transferred to the bottom, it's harder to clear 16 lines this way (if you don't count the cascade). A TGM4 / TGM3 Omega location test also showed a freezing mechanics which had a similar effect but only affected the bottom half of the playfield.
The former Japanese mobile game Tetris Monster had also that mechanics where completed lines were transferred to the bottom of the playfield. After a while you ran out of space and had to start your attack, in which case the attack strength of your monsters was calculated from the number of cleared lines as well as speed, T-Spins, Tetrises, combos etc.
That's pretty much it. There's also the mino shower ability in the rip-off game Tetris Burst which fills your entire field and then clears all blocks. Oh and people already made fan-games with the Zone mechanics.
PS: I know that I could have kinda build a "secret grade" (TGM series) at 9:05 by placing that T piece flat side down. But this would have prevented the T-Spin Double, and in The New Tetris it's game over when a block is partially placed outside of the visible area.Giant T-Spin Setups (T pieces only)eRR0Rq2018-05-16 | 0:08 Imperial Cross , 1:00 C-Spin , 1:59 DT Cannon , 2:55 Trinity , 3:58 Triple Tower , 4:51 shorter versions
What's your favorite Tetris piece? I assume T piece would be the most common answer to this question. I guess S, Z, L and J would come last because why should you prefer S over Z when they just look identically; and from the 3 pieces with a mirror axis (I, T, O), the T piece is the only one looking differently in all 4 orientation. If the T piece isn't the most popular piece (I piece is also a contender), then it's at least the most interesting one: It's the only piece that covers a different number of white and black tiles, if put on a checkered board ("parity") and you can make T-Spins (in guideline Tetris even T-Spin Triples). I don't know why I wrote this introduction but oh well this is another video about nothing but T pieces.
I had the idea for this video when I was watching a video of nick666101 where he build the doubled-sized T-Spin Triple Tower setup like at 3:58 but with bag randomizer. youtu.be/kEenMxhoE70
When watching said video I thought why not use T pieces only to stack the setup and clear the board in the end with some giant T pieces. For latter I had to just add an additional line in the NullpoMino code where I made the game switch to "Big Mode" (doubled sized pieces, so pretty much 5 columns instead of 10). I also thought about making giant patterns for other pieces (e.g. using only L pieces to build a L Spin Triple into L Spin Double setup) but then gave up on the idea for the sake of more T Spin setups ... because T piece is best piece :)
Most setups I used have in common that they utilize the T-Spin Triple kick which is a twist from flat side down orientation to vertical orientation where the T piece is kicked 2 rows down and 1 column to the side. This kick requires an overhang on the top. If the setups didn't include a T-Spin Triple, then they usually contain a STSD ("Super T-Spin Double") which just looks like the T-Spin Triple build but with one missing block in a corner.
Music is the last two songs from The Flashbulb's Arboreal album ("Skeletons" , "Tomorrow Untrodden"). Game is a slightly modded version of NullpoMino. As said before I added a line where a certain button press would make the game switch to Big Mode. I also made FixedSequenceRandomizer store the used sequence in the replay file.
NullpoMino allows you to define a sequence with FixedSequenceRandomizer or disable certain piece shapes in Practice Mode. I used pause and re-record to create this replay. Replay is sped up twice. I made the background from a Tetris Ultimate cover. I used Puyo Puyo Tetris skins and sounds which you can find under fileshare in the HardDrop Discord.

Well, in this case you can obviously make a lot of T-Spins. You can even make a long chain of T-Spins like shown in this video. Oh, and you can still make Tetris Art, but it will be monochrome. Actually, I think Tetris Art is a bit easier with just T pieces because you always know which piece you get. Nonetheless, I put a lot of thoughts in this build beforehand in order to keep the number of cleared lines as low as possible. My fumen: http://tinyurl.com/yatf6axt
There's a Tetris Wiki article for the shown "Snaking" technique. This looping technique uses the T-Spin Triple kick a lot, resulting in consecutive Super T-Spin Doubles (2 x TSD) or consecutive Mini-Triples (TSS Mini + TST) depending on how the line on the bottom looks like. http://harddrop.com/wiki/T-Spin_Snaking
All shown moves should be possible in official Tetris games. However, I played on a 22 columns high matrix. Maybe, you can also make this pattern on a 20 columns high matrix but I don't like to stack over the visible area, and official games won't hand out a T-piece-only sequence anyway (well, Tetris Advance actually used such a sequence for a Perfect Clear challenge).

2 pieces per second is pretty much my average multiplayer speed in Cultris II. It's nice to reach that on a slower client (rather long line clear delay, I think 1 frame AutoRepeatRate, no Initial Hold & Rotation system) with Hold (usually hold makes me slow, e.g. I played some Jstris multiplayer a few weeks ago and I only got around 1.7 pps average there, thus I played Jstris slower than C2 although I had 2 previews).
At the end I show the Tetris Ultimate PC leaderboards. TU Leaderboards are pretty bad because nobody takes Tetris Ultimate seriously (people not even willing to buy Tetris Ultrimate for 5 Euros during a sale). I also own the PS4 version and leaderboards are a little better there (however Sprint board is bugged there). Anyway, in Ultra I am second place behind Omu (who is also #1 on TetrisFriends Ultra). I was majorly clearing Singles, which slows down the level 20 pace by a lot. I've got also a video where I go for the more risky Triple and Tetris clears in normal mode: youtube.com/watch?v=Cyqmxnj1aAs
Heart Mode can be enabled by holding down Down while pressing Start in the player selection screen. If activated, you'll see a heart next to your current level. Heart Mode means that the gravity (falling speed) is 10 levels higher than usual (maximum level is still 20), although the player doesn't receive more points than usual. So Heart Mode is disadvantageous for scoring purposes.
I started on level 9.For the first 100 lines I played at level 19 speed but just got the level 9 score multiplier. For lines 100 to 109, it's level 20 speed and level 10 score multiplier, and so on. Without heart mode I sometimes reach level 20 with 600,000 points; with heart mode 250,000 points is pretty much the maximum before reaching level 20 speed (and the score multiplier is lower for the next hundred lines).
So, maxing out in Heart Mode is harder to do. However, I would rank a Heart mode max out lower than a normal maxout done in 500 lines or less because for a normal maxout in 500 lines you have to go for Tetrises and Triples in level 20 which puts you in great danger. For example, I got the Heart Mode max-out on my third try where I reached level 20 speed. On the other hand, for the 500 lines max-out I needed much longer.

About my GameBoy Tetris journey: As a kid my highscore was 609k points. I was using my thumbs and level 20 was my nemesis. I had never cleared more than 40 lines in level 20. After some years, my GameBoy's directional pad wasn't that responsive anymore (it became too stiff), and I couldn't reach that score anymore. In 2013, I bought a "new" GameBoy (the one in the video). I saw other people using their index and middle fingers, so I started playing that way. I got to around 730k points in 2 weeks. Then, I started crossing my hands (like in the video), using my right hand for D-pad and my left hand for buttons A and B. Basically, with that method I use the same fingers (for move left/right and rotate) as when playing Tetris on a computer. This also made me tap the D-pad a little faster (tapping is very important because autorepeat speed is too slow in GB Tetris), especially in the right direction (path to the right side is longer than to the left). From that moment I knew I would reach the 999,999 points in no time. And indeed, 3 weeks later I got my first max-out. By now, I would say that I could max out every 4th or 5th game when I went for Singles on level 20.
I would estimate that around 1000 people have maxed out GameBoy Tetris, with the first max-outs in 1989 or 1990. Also note that an earlier version was released in Japan (but only 10,000 or less copies of said version), using a different level progression system which theoretically allows to get 999,999 points before reaching level 20 (when starting in level 0, level 20 will come after 310 lines).
Note that there's another original Game Boy Tetris max-out on Youtube by Spectre/DanZ. If I understood it correctly, he connected his GameBoy (Advance?) to a GameCube for the video output. edit: or maybe with a Super Gameboy playing on a SNES controller.
Since there were some doubters (there's only screen footage, no fingers or whatever), Spectre/DanZ made a B-Type level 19 (via Heart Mode) high 5 video. That's harder to achieve than a max-out. I never really bothered to play level 19 high 5 B-Type because I dislike challenges were the first few seconds matter the most (which means you have to restart over and over again until you get a lucky start)
If you're looking for a rudimentary GameBoy highscore thread than head over to the HardDrop Tetris community. Post a photo of your score and it will be added to the leaderboard.
That's sadly the best highscore list you can find in the interwebs. I always found it weird that there's no real leaderboard for a rather competitive game with 30 millions physical copies. Twin Galaxies also has a leaderboard, but the official scores there are much worse because of certain restrictions. For a long time they only accepted video tapes (no digital videos). If I understood correctly, only people from English speaking countries (unlike me) are allowed there and people have to pay a fee to get their scores on the list. edit: I was told that most contra Twin Galaxy points are not true (anymore).Cultris II Grande Finale 8 times in a row (again)eRR0Rq2016-11-05 | (reupload with more volume and slightly better graphics) So, I bought a new laptop and after I installed Windows 7 (I pity the people who play Tetris on Windows 10) I was able to play Cultris II about 5 to 10 BPM faster than before (majorly because I can use a shorter autorepeat delay now). So I thought it would be a good idea to try Uber l33t mode. It wasn't. I've always avoided Uber l33t like the plague and I was so damn right. In the 6 hours I tried I never got down to 100 lines left. Not once. I am still not fast enough to have the slightest chance. So I recorded a video of Grande Finale instead. I managed to beat it in 8 consecutive games again (I once did that before on my old laptop, this time probably with less luck involved).
*Rant Mode on* Maybe it's just me being pissed that I am not l33t enough, but how the hell can it be that beating the hardest challenge is harder than beating the second hardest challenge 8 times in a row? That's bad design. I remember Simon readjusting the difficulties of those 2 involved challenges and I told him that the skill gap would be too big. I was so damn right but nobody ever listens to me. Instead he believed in his statistics (WAS ERLAUBE SIMON?!). I mean in Uber l33t the garbage lines come at a 50% higher rate than in Grande Finale and it takes longer to clear. So basically you have to play 50% faster. That's simple logic. OK that's all I had to say (ICH HABE FERTIG!).

Songs are called Sandsifted, 11-5-2013 and Ephemeris. soundcloud.com/dwaallicht/tracksTetris Ultimate Times Up mode Infinite TSTeRR0Rq2016-11-05 | Here's a video of me trying to use Massi4h's Infinite TST technique for 30 minutes. The operative word is "trying", I have to skim/burn a lot of lines to keep the stack stable.
I recorded that video because:
a) I didn't have any Tetris Ultimate video on my channel and I heard Tetris Ultimate will be a huge thing (yeah people actually said that some years ago). b) I didn't have a real guideline Tetris video on my channel ... you know with stuff such as Hold etc. c) I like challanges that take a bit longer. Sadly, gravity usually increases in such modes and I hate that in guideline Tetris games. d) I wanted to show that it's basically possible to play that Time's Up mode forever. An ill-designed mode in Tetris Ultimate ... who thought so?
Regarding d) : At the end of the video you'll see that I've played that mode at an average speed of 89 tpm/ppm/bpm. Let's assume somebody plays it with 75 tpm. That's 6 lines cleared every 12 seconds. At 10 minutes in the video you'll see that I get 12 seconds for each T-Spin Triple and after 30 minutes it's still 12 seconds (after 5 hours it's also still 12 seconds; yeah I've played that long). After 10 minutes, it also doesn't matter if the TST is back-to-back or not (it's Tetris Ultimate, so don't ask why). So, basically if you play at 75 tpm and make a TST every 6 lines, you won't lose any time (same is true for a b2b TSD every 4 lines). At 10 minutes I got a bit less than 10 minutes left on the clock, at 30 minutes it's a bit over 15 minutes. If I played 30 further minutes, it would be a bit over 20 minutes ... I think you get the idea. Thanks for reading if you made it that far.Perfect Clear FindereRR0Rq2016-06-12 | A program I wrote. Even today (a half year after the release), it's still totally bugged in multiplayer. Note, that Ubisoft & SomaPlay went for the release of the PS Vita version before patching the console versions. So hopefully, the bugs will get fixed eventually. But it's still notable that it took so long.

Game is a non-finished project by me, working title: TetBot. Palatris is a Finnish Tetris client. The corresponding English client is called Dualtris. The scores on the English leaderboard are much worse. That's why I was playing the Finnish client. In the game above, I was very lucky. I won't even try to improve this score. With some more practice, I could reach 135 pieces per minute (instead of 130), but it's very unlikely that I would be so lucky anytime soon.
There was once a multiplayer client called Multris. The goal was to have the most points after 10 respectively 5 minutes. You could sent garbage to your enemies and you lost points, if you were topped out. Multris also had a weekly leaderboard for the top singleplayer scores. Palatris 5 minutes reminds me of that. The scoring systems are proportional. And like Multris, it uses memoryless randomizer, and it uses the operation system's autorepeat system (no own DAS). And 1-key-finesse works in Palatris, too. 1-key-finesse means that rotation + left/right movement + harddrop is combined in one keypress, so you just need 1 (or 2) keys per piece. I use AutoHotKey to emulate keypresses.
PS: This bloody I piece misdrop at the end. Without that misdrop, I could have done 2 further Tetrises instead of those Doubles and Singles. In this case, I would have passed the second place (6555 points) and coming in closely behind the first place (6635 points).
And if you are wondering why I don't feel bad about using tricks to get on that leaderboard. This site is pretty dead. The people on that leaderboard don't play that game anymore. The 1 minute leaderboard is messed up, maybe the 5 minutes leaderboard, too (the leader's second-best score is 6199 points, the runner up has no further game under the top 100) Also, Linux users have an advantage over Windows users, because the autorepeat can be tuned faster there (at least that's what a Multris player told me).

Some days ago, jkwon played Cheese mode with the MPH rule. In his second try he got 10 min 35 sec: youtu.be/fIvGV9jLY8w
Challenge accepted! Currently, I am triumphant. However, he may reclaim the throne soon because he is a bit faster than me. He must respect all 3 letters in MPH though. As far as I know this means a) not relying on 1 piece in the second half of a game, b) stacking flat 2-wides or 3-wides (similar to Cultris) until the right pieces show up.

So, I made another N-Blox video. This time I played myself and tried to make as many successive Tetrises as possible. I think I could do 70 or 80 in a row, but I don't want to spend too much time on it. The randomizer makes holeless stacking pretty easy, but the low ceiling puts you under pressure. You shouldn't waste too many I pieces on stabilizing the stack. I used Numpad4 and Nampad6 for moving left/right, X and Z for rotating and Space for harddrop. Numlock has to be turned off for that setup. I don't use 'k' for faster keys, because it makes me misdrop.
PS: I've played some Cultris 1 not long ago. There, the colors of L and J pieces are swapped, so I confused them from time to time. Also: In Tetris Guideline, S pieces are green and J pieces blue. In N-Blox, Z pieces are green and L pieces are blue :/Cultris 1-key-finesseeRR0Rq2015-05-09 | Me playing Cultris 1 with 1-key-finesse. Haven't really played 1-key-finesse Tetris in years, but you never unlearn certain things. So I thought about making a short video. At first, I went for 3 god-like combos (which are far easier to do in Cultris 1 than in Cultris 2) - followed by some Tetrising (lol at least I tried to clear 4 lines at once).
1-key-finesse is having keys for everything. Move, rotate & drop is usually combined in only 1 keypress. An AutoHotKey script does the key-simulation part.
My setup consists of 19 major keys (all displayed keys except U,Y,H). The top row is for horizontical piece placements, the bottom row plus Space & Alt is for vertical placements. With the L key, I switch between the 2 horizontical resp. vertical directions (L,J,T pieces).
At 2:24 you can see me softdropping: I first tap the H key, which tells the script to softdrop and move the piece to the left after I release the next major key. U is for softdrop-right and Y for softdrop-doublerotate (180 T-spins) For more details, see http://harddrop.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4852 .

But when I got it, I could clear it 2 further times, making it 8 times total! Of course, you'll see a lot of luck in this video: garbage holes aligned above each other, getting pieces at the right time etc. - otherwise it would have been impossible for me and my low speed (110 BPM when I don't rush).
And yes, I still have to beat Uberl33t. I haven't really tried though. Playing it is just so demotivating, because the stack rises so much faster and one has to survive (at least) twice as long. All in all, beating Grande Finale 6 times in a row should be easier.

I just lost a bit time at 21 to 25 seconds in the replay timeline. Stacking 4 to 6 column wide flat surfaces is very untypically for me. Fortunately, the last I piece showed up in time.
I am very pleased with my new record. I will take a break from Tetris now, so it will probably stay my record for another 9 months (since I am not physically and mentally able to break my record in winter).

No, it's a bot that I've written in AutoHotKey. I am pleased with its downstacking speed. It's on a par with those integrated bots. My bot can't prepare combos though.
For each iteration, the bot analyses first the color of some pixels in order to know which piece is coming next (and from time to time how the field looks). Then it computes the fields resulting from hard-dropping the current and the next piece on all possible locations and assigns a score to each field. Eventually, it makes the move that leads to the field with the best score. The assigned scores depend on the bumpiness of the surface, the distribution of white and black cells (like in chess) on the surface, and the accessibility of the 2 highest holes (how deep the holes are covered and how flat the surface is above).
The video consists of 2 parts: offline Survivor mode and a bot match on highest difficulty. Online Survivor record should be around 3 1/2 minutes, so take that slow humans! My bot sent 858 lines in the following match, can't remember having seen such a high number before (yeah, those bot matches can take an eternity).Tetris Bot plays N-Blox (2800 lines without any hole)eRR0Rq2014-05-12 | What you see here is a computer program (Artificial Intelligence) playing Tetris. I have written this AI with AutoHotKey. It's been some kind of prototype though, as it isn't able to make any holes (empty cells with filled cells above). The program was still able to clear 2800 lines in N-Blox before it had to stop.
The AI tries to drop the current and the next piece on all possible locations that don't create holes. It assigns scores to all resulting fields and then makes the move that leads to the field with the best score. The asigned score depends on the bumpiness of the surface, the distribution of white and black cells (like in chess) on the surface, and if there are enough spots to drop S, Z and O pieces.
Note that N-Blox's randomizer is rather forgiving in the way that you can't get droughts (If you are near the top, then you can be sure that you'll get the piece that you need the most).
I recorded this video a half year ago. I wanted to include some part of it in another video which should have been about scoring (max-outs, overflows), in order to show that it is literally possible to play N-Blox forever (however you can't max it out since the score is stored in a 64 bit variable). Anyhow, I dropped that idea. My previous bot samples are the most watched videos on my channel, so here we go.

The video was made for this TetrisWiki article: http://harddrop.com/wiki/A_deadly_piece_sequence
Pretty much all pieces are dropped vertically in 5 lanes. Here some timecode when something interesting happens (S = green piece, Z = red piece):
0:22 The middle lane is switched from S to Z 0:47 An S is dropped in 4th & 5th column, immediately after a Z in 6th & 7th column. This clears the hole that was created at 0:22. 0:55 A Z is dropped in 8th & 9th column, shortly after another Z in 2nd & 3rd column. This switches the color of the 4 side lanes. 1:01 Bottom is reached again. The 3 lanes in the middle have now the same color and height as in the beginning. Thus it's possible to repeat the procedure. 1:25 The middle lane is switched from S to Z 1:49 An S is dropped in 4th & 5th column, shortly after a Z in 6th & 7th column. 1:57 Bottom is reached again. S is put on Z lanes and vice versa. This wastes 2 rows but now the situation from the beginning is restored. From here on the procedure is iterated.
Game is NullpoMino 7.5. If you want to play with the same piece sequence: 1. Create a file called sequence.txt in the NullpoMino main folder. Open the textfile with Notepad and just enter the 2 letters SZ and save. 2. With the help of ruleeditor.bat, create a rule file using the FixedSequence randomizer. Choose the corresponding rule as current rule.

I like Grande Finale because the line insertion speed matches pretty much my downstack speed. I am definitely not ub3rl33t. :/
Grande Finale changed pretty much over time. Earlier versions used a faster line insertion speed and the goal was to send 100 lines (instead of clearing). Actually, I have never watched this TV show and I am too old for it now. However, this little hamster Hamtaro was so kawaii, that I couldn't resist. But behind that cuteness lies evilness: All in all, it took me roughly 12 hours to record that video.
The whole figure wasn't completed in a single run. From time to time, I used NullpoMino's ability to re-record a replay file. Moreover, intially I used a 1 row shorter matrix. I was able to complete the figure, but I couldn't get a perfect clear in the 3 lines left at the top. This forced me to waste nearly another 3 hours to re-re-record the replay file on a higher matrix. However, I think this video was worth the effort.
It was the first time, that I did Tetris Art with bag randomizer, 6 previews and hold feature. I prefer to do it with classic Tetris (memoryless randomizer, 1 preview, no hold), see here:

Deep drop is activated, because no sonic drop is implemented in Keyblox. Nevertheless, I consider this a legit 40 line bot time, because the time lost through recordings exceeds by far the extra time the script would have needed for some additional sonic drop keystrokes.
