Here’s a shot progression from the Burning Mammal credits sequence — I animated Gazelle and the tigers.
Starting from choreographer footage as a jumping-off point, I gathered extra reference to push the energy while matching the technical beats from layout — including:
Revealing Gazelle at the exact moment
Adding physicality with the stairs
Quadrupling the distance traveled
Filling in gaps in the choreography with additional moves
You’ll also see my first pass + drawovers where I pitched a “cape toss” gesture on the lyric “we’re wild and we can’t be tamed” (like taming a bull / runway cape toss). Turns out… it wasn’t a cape — it was a scarf 😅💀
