'Zont™' Bracing is a light weight ICF bracing system where the primary contact with the wall is a horizontal 2x4 waler held in place with Zont™ brackets. This differs from conventional ICF bracing where the primary contact is the vertical brace itself.
As Zont™ Bracing uses 2x4s readily available on the jobsite, the brackets weigh approximately 7% of conventional ICF bracing. Zonts™ are purchased for less than the price of renting convential bracing.
ZONT™ Bracing is recommended with Fastfoot™ Monopour for three reasons:
1) The base of ICF wall is staked directly to ground through strongback, preventing wall movement;
2) Scaffolding loads are transferred directly to the ground through the strongback;
3) Compression in the ICF wall is allowed through a slotted hole in the side of the Zont.
