Southampton Zone Transit Formation flight, this is an example of how two aircraft can do a zone transit and only one aircraft makes the radio calls, we often do this with as many as 10 aircraft and works well if a good briefing on the ground before flight is done, all other aircraft have radio and can call the controller if needed.
This RT is a prime example of what can go wrong, the controller is very good but has better equipment than all the aircraft he is talking with. The great thing about RT is you cant make a mistake because if you do make a mistake then providing you correct that mistake using the correct procedure then as far as procedure is concerned no mistake has been made. my personal feelings are this controller has a voice i don't understand speaks to fast and don't give time between transmissions for others to know what he is saying. The video and audio can hear all but the Radios we use are slower, so pilots don't get what you hear in this video.
