LH2 is crucial for delivering hydrogen propulsion for larger airframes because it's significantly more energy dense in terms of volume than gaseous hydrogen. With a hydrogen-electric powertrain already retrofit into the Dornier 228, it's a perfect testbed for our first explorations of LH2-fueled flight.
Most recently, we achieved the first LH2-powered high speed propeller spin on the Do228 testbed aircraft at our LH2 test facility. A meaningful technical milestone and a strong reflection of the team's work across various departments.
