On Thursday, October 21, Turntide Technologies started on our road to COP26 with a special guest to our Gateshead location: the Planet Mark Zero Carbon Battle Bus.
Planet Mark made the stop during their own journey to Glasgow via the Carbon Zero Tour, a campaign to spread net-zero carbon messages to the business community by highlighting a wide array of actions that individual businesses can take to address the climate crisis.
During COP26, our partner Hitachi Rail will showcase Turntide’s Hyperdrive Battery System, which powers their electric trains coming to market. Specifically, Hyperdrive develops battery packs that power zero-emission trains.
This partnership could have a transformative impact in the UK, where almost two-thirds of the 20,000-mile rail network is not electrified. The Hyperdrive Battery System enables Hitachi to create zero-emission trains that can help close this gap.
