It's the sequel to my first RushJet1 copycat album, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link Remade! I knew I wanted to cover this soundtrack in VRC6 since before I finished the first album. There's just so much amazing music from this game and I wanted to do this underrated classic justice. Just like the first one, this album has 3 different overworld themes, 6 versions of the classic palace theme, and a bunch of souped-up boss themes.
I'm really proud of how this turned out. The nature of this game's music allowed me to do more intense, energetic arrangements compared to the creepier, more ambient sound of the first game's dungeons. I think my favorites were Island Palace and Great Palace, I got to do some cool stuff with those.
About the video itself: I am not this good at Zelda II. It's heavily spliced; the original recordings were 3 hours in total so a lot of bad attempts were cut. There might be a couple of errors in there, but I'm pretty sure I got everything major. It should be a decent way to experience the soundtrack, although Bandcamp is really where you should go.
Finally, you might be wondering what's next. Link to the Past? Link's Awakening? Well, I'm probably going to take a break from doing Zelda soundtracks for a while. Next time I do a project like this, it'll be from a different franchise. And I think I'll take a break from the style anyway. I'm imitating the style of someone else, not really cultivating my own, and I've already tried to separate myself from RushJet1 in this album. I'm going to focus on branching out in styles and maybe even trying some originals. We'll see.

I decided to make a regular rival battle theme for the original Pokemons. There are elements of his encounter theme (similar to how Silvers theme incorporates his encounter theme) and his eventual champion theme. I think I did a pretty good job of keeping each inspiration subtle but noticeable and the whole composition within that awful Gen 1 sound. I think this is leagues better than the Elite Four theme I did years ago.")

This commission took me down a rabbit hole: apparently this series started as an obvious Mario ripoff on C64, hence the name. But this is a more recent game, in which you switch between the cute and punk version of the world. This version plays when youre in the cute world, I think. This song is pretty good, although a bit repetitive and overly long. I think you could cut it in half and itd be about as good, tbh. But yeah, I dont expect this to get a lot of views but thanks for checking it out if you did!")

12th place of 135 in Famicompo Pico 4 covers section.
This was by far my biggest single cover Ive ever done. I wish it hadnt been my only submission to FCP4, but this was my first compo and Im very happy with getting within top 20, which was my goal. Ive never done anything with this much multichip, but I think I did pretty damn well with mixing.
The idea was for each chip to come in one at a time, as the song slowly builds up. This is based on the OST version; I didnt cover each individual section. And also, a BIG shout-out to Lena Raine for composing this games soundtrack. Its one of my favorites of all time.")

This is probably my favorite moment in the Metroid series. Its so impactful and reflective. The fact that Samus makes the decision not to kill the last Metroid after exterminating the entire rest of the species... its powerful and a clear message about violence. The violence she caused on SR388 ended up having major negative consequences, but her peaceful decision saved her life twice, as she notes. Idk it just gets me.
And the song that goes along with it is so perfect, with its unclear meter and repeating pattern its super good. This cover is actually based on TrojanHorse711s SNES cover of the song which I linked above. I think my cover is good but also it sounds a little abrasive at first... I think you get used to it but it starts off a bit odd. N163 is hard")

I know this songs been done in VRC6 by bigger people than me but its my favorite song in the OST and its so weird and good and cool and TOBY. I went hard on the sample use here, trying to pack as much detail as possible. I hope they sound ok, DPCM is really hard to make sound clean
I never actually finished Chapter 1 until Chapter 2 came out, so I was way behind on the hype.
