![Het laatste snufje der draadlooze telegrafie - 1924
Stomme film

Silent movie
Part out of the Dutch Pathé cinemanews, how French ladies via their stockings [yes really] and an umbrella could listen to the broadcasts of the radiostation on top of the Eiffel-tower.
On the 5th November 1898, Eugène Ducretet carried out the first wireless telegraphy trials between the Eiffel Tower and the Pantheon (a distance of 4 km). The transmitter was installed at the top of
the Tower. In 1899, the waves crossed the Channel for the first time.
From 1921, at first as an experiment, a civilian transmitter broadcast music programmes, columns, and lastly the Journal Parlé (spoken news) from 1925, picked up by amateurs on simple crystal radio sets. Radio Tour-Eiffel was well-known to Parisians at the time.

![Big Brother goes to Mars - Radio Netherlands Worldwide 12072012
Dutchman Bas Lansdorp has unveiled what he calls serious plans to send a mission of four astronauts to live on Mars. According to Lansdorp, the technology exists to realise the plan within a decade, but it will be a one-way ticket to the red planet.
Mr. Lansdorp says the Mars One project would cost approximately six billion US dollars. No taxpayers money would be involved. The commercial operation would be financed by selling television rights to watch the technical Big Brother reality show.
