Zack Kopplin recently won the Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award for his efforts to repeal the so-called Louisiana Science Education Act. Kopplin launched his effort while still in high school, ultimately gathering 55,000 signatures on a state-wide petition, gaining support from 78 Nobel laureates, testifying at state Senate hearings, holding press conferences, appearing on "Hardball" and other shows, and generally raising awareness about the attacks on evolution science.
