OMNI has a young crowd, bottle service, although the entrance can be expensive, this place is worth every penny.Another great nightclub for halloween is Elektro, one of the most popular nightclubs at ATT4Fun. As you can tell from my photos, I visited Taipei during the halloween weekend. This is a compilation of my 2 trips to Taiwan, end of September and end of October. VIBE and PONG are special nightclubs where you can play digital beer pong with friends, a date or the locals. It is a great way to socialize and interact, just download the App on your phone and have a fun beer pong match off in the middle of the nightclub.KOR Taipei is located right next to OMNI, Kor is a great club if you are NOT into EDM. At KOR you can enjoy hiphop, R&B and rap music. Sadly, there isn't a dance floor but definitely a great place to socialize.End your night in Taipei at Haidilao, a highend Chinese hot pot restaurant open until 4am, my Taiwanese friends took me here to experience delicious Chinese dishes, my favorite being the water lotus stems, I recommend going easy on the spicy level, it could be a painful aftermath. A good start is the Gornergrat, to get there you can jump on the highest-altitude cogwheel railway in Europe which ends at the highest hotel in Switzerland, the Kulmhotel, from here you can also set eyes on the mountain in Switzerland, the Monte Rosa Massif. After you day on the slopes have dinner at the unique Chez Heini restaurant for their bizarre Red High Heel Soup, usually the soup of the day and their extremely juicy lamb chops. Alternatively, feast on the Swiss traditional dish Raclette at Du Pont restaurant, the oldest restaurant in Zermatt.The most unique attraction in Zermatt is by far the Cheese Fondue in an Igloo experience. For 70 Swiss francs or 70 US dollars you will join a tour group venturing out the Iglu-dorf located in the mountains near the Riffelberg station. Inside the giant Iglu-dorf complex, created out of igloos, you will be welcoming with a warm cup of mulled red wine and presented with the most incredible cheese fondue experience while you enjoy the live music, every Thursday!The Iglu-dorf is basically a giant hotel complex with many rooms, a love-nest and a bar complete with a jacuzzi. Renting a igloo room for one night can be quite expensive but an experience for a lifetime. Why wouldn't you want to wake up among gorgeous crafted ice sculptures of wild animals ranging from buffalos to eagles.Downtown Zermatt has plenty to offer as well, from a stroll through the ancient Hinterdorf street where you can get lost between 30 elevated barns, stables and storage units built between the 15th and 19th century. They offer pretty good rental rates. Visit Titlis at early dawn by jumping on world's first revolving cable car since 1992, the Titlis Rotair. This cable car will take you to the peak of Titlis at a height of 3020 meters. Titlis is best known for having Europe's highest suspension bridge but also a beautiful turquoise-blue light caused by refracted sunlight. The temperature in the cave is a steady -2 degrees Celsius all year round.Downtown Engelberg provides a cozy shopping street for great Swiss souvenirs, restaurants offering Swiss cuisine like Cheese Fondue and the Tal museum. At the end of the Engelberg village street (Dorfstrasse) you'll find the Engelberg Abbey. The abbey was founded by monks in 1120, while the town of Engelberg gradually built around it. Engelberg literally means Angel Mountain in English.One of our favorite activities was rental a set of snowmobiles at SnowXPark at the mid-station on Titlis. For just 25 CHF or $23 US dollars for 10 minutes on a closed track, great for an afternoon match-off. Luckily, converting Swiss Francs to US dollars is easy, they are the exact same.One of the better restaurants in Engelberg include Ende Der Welt restaurant, literally; The End of The World. Since this cozy restaurant is located at the end of a narrow street within a massive valley.Another restaurant worth mentioning is Alpenclub, we must have had our best meal here. The house special; This incredible juicy steak covers with onions will set you back 52 CHF, $52 US dollars, but it will be the best juicy steak you'll ever eat.The absolute best activity was Airboarding on Mount Brunni, this was a totally unexpected activity. Airboarding is basically sledding but on your stomach on an air mattress. Airboarding has its own dedicated track and is so much fun, especially while racing your friends. Renting an airboard will set you back 15 CHF, $15 US dollars.In conclusion, Engelberg is an absolute fantastic winter sport destination if you want to avoid the busy jet set slopes of Austria and Germany. Engelberg offers something for everyone, from families to die-hard professional snowboarders. Do not forget to end every meal in Engelberg with a local Luz coffee which is thin coffee with fruit flavoured Brandy, got to love the Swiss! Now if you want to save yourself a ton of money, consider buying the official Swiss Travel Pass which cover free transit in Switzerland on trains, boats, buses and cable cars but also includes access to 420 museums in Switzerland. My favorite exhibit was the massive pile of Swiss road sighs on their court yard.According to the locals, a day trip to Mount Rigi is actually more rewarding than Mount Pilatus for its wide-stretched 360 views of Central Switzerland. At the peak you have a clear view of 125 Alpine peaks and 13 lakes. Get there by ferry and the classic Vitznau cogwheel train, the oldest mountain railway in Europe.Do not underestimate Lucerne, it has an incredible nightlife scene considered second to Zurich, which is Switzerland best. This road trip was one of the most unique experiences in my life, since I learned so much playing the Battlefield 1 video game and to see everything in real life was quite eye-opening. Battlefield 1 is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series made by EA DICE, a Swedish game developer, selling over 15 million copies. The best part, the multiplayer battles of 2 opposing teams with a total of 64 simultaneous players fighting over control.I can highly recommend you take this trip, especially now during the pandemic since you can easily do this road trip by yourself while social distancing, allowing you to explore every World War 1 sight.The Somme 1916 Museum even had a horse statue complete with weaponry at the entrance, exactly as portrayed in the Battlefield 1 video game. The highlight of this road trip was Ballroom Blitz (Château de Chantilly) one of the most beautiful castles I've ever seen. Funny fact, this castle was also featured in the James Bond Movie: A View to A Kill (1985), just a 40-minute drive north of Paris.The devastating nature of this terrible conflict was witnessed throughout the war along the Western Front, with huge armies dug into the muddy fields of France and set-piece advances involving hundreds of thousands of men bringing huge loss of life, often for little gain. Today, visitors to the French World War One battlefields can experience recreations in museums, explore the surviving trench works and visit memorials and cemeteries to those who died.It took me hours to find the most resembling street to the Battlefield 1 map of Amiens; Rue de la Dodane near the Quartier Saint-Leu in Amiens. The Notre-Dame cathedral of Amiens was absolutely the highlight in Amiens, kept in pristine condition and luckily survived both world wars without damage. My video is solely based on the Battlefield 1 video game and isn’t meant as a World War 1 history documentation. This is my first 4K video on YouTube and serves as an example of what is yet to come on the Reformatt Show. Their best treat is the almond pudding, this was beyond delicious for just $2 USD.The BEST Hong Kong dim sum can be experience at Michelin-star restaurant Tim Ho Wan, for extremely cheap prices, Shumai at $4 USD, Har Gow at $4 USD and BBQ pork buns at $3 USD, basically $1 USD per item. Absolutely ridiculously cheap for Michelin rated food. Arrive before 5pm to avoid any line-ups.In conclusion, I have to say that Hong Kong is one of the coolest cities I've ever been to, but you must remember, Hong Kong is a pure business city, the locals can be very rushed and occupied. Hong Kong never really focused on being a hardcore tourist destination so keep that in mind. To say there is a specific bar that stands out I would be lying. SOHO and LKF districts are packed with incredible bars and nightclubs, all within walking distance. If it is a regular Saturday night, then I highly recommend Play to mingle with the locals, it is an excellent nightclub and not too touristy.The great thing about Hong Kong is almost everyone speaks English!Nightlife in Hong Kong often keeps going until 6am at the earliest. 6am is the perfect time to visit Victoria Peak since everyone will be sleeping, so you can watch the sunrise all by yourself. Taking a taxi to Victoria peak is dirt cheap, Hong Kong taxis are very afforable.Hotels & Airbnb in Hong Kong Central can be very pricey, so if you are on a budget consider staying in the Causeway bay area, or Mong Kok area. It tasted like burned shrimp but even more tasteless, the best thing this street vendor had to offer were grilled snake and mealworms but make sure to chase it with a cold tasty beer.Besides eating tarantulas, we could choose lots of other bizarre items ranging from frogs, cockroaches and scorpions to entire geckos. Shinsekai is a must-see district in Osaka, if not for its for food, definitely for its unique atmosphere and beautiful store decorations.The most mysterious place on this tour is Osaka's red light district known as Tobita Shinchi where you can witness beautiful Japanese girls trying to lure Japanese businessmen into their little shop. The district consists out of 3 major streets, first street houses girls in their 20's, second street women in their 30's and third street 40's and up. Another interesting area the tour visits is Kamagasaki where the homeless population of Osaka hangs out. It is quite eye-opening to see the state of housing in these ghettos, a site usual tourists will never see of Japan. Mr. Kanso is one of the most unique restaurants in Osaka. A tiny food bar serving 300 different kinds of canned foods from all over the world ranging from canned BBQ eel to canned sea urchin to canned stewed grasshoppers. Due to still being quite crunchy, it had a nice sweet flavor and taste more like chips than the remnants of a nasty insect.In conclusion, my favorite canned food was the unagi, BBQ eel but the dashimakitamago (cold sushi egg roll) came very close. A few blocks from the National Diet you'll find the Hie Shrine which has an amazing red torii gate tunnel in the back which is often overlooked by tourists. This place is especially perfect if you are not able to make it to Kyoto but still want to make a selfie in a red torii gate tunnel.A cozy place for drinks is Magnet in Shibuya, if you do not have a budget for beers you can still visit the FREE observatory deck on the rooftop for an epic view of the Shibuya crossing, the busiest intersection of the world. After spending time in Shibuya I recommend checking out the VR zone in Shinjuku for the most epic VR arcade games ranging from Evangelion VR to Mario Kart VR to Dragonball Z VR. In Gora you will find the Ninja Cafe Fuma where you can throw real ninja stars aka shiruken and feast on local ninja fried snacks.In Gora you will also find the Yunessun water park which has a wine, coffee, green tea and sake spa including a massive outdoor pool area but also attractions like the Hakone Open-Air museum (Japan's first).After one night in Gora jump on the cable car and ropeway towards Owakudani where you can try out the unique black eggs which has gotten their color from being boiled into the volcano hot springs and Sulphur. On a clear day you are able to walk around this mesmerizing valley. Owakudani literally means Giant Boiling Valley.Once you ate your black eggs continue on the ropeway towards Lake Ashi from where you jump on a pirate boat and cruise Lake Ashi while you enjoy beautiful views of Mount Fuji and the Hakone Shrine.At the pirate boat dock, you can either visit the Hakone Shrine or jump on a bus back to Yumoto-Hakone station where you should spend your second night in a luxurious ryokan including a traditional Japanese kaiseki dinner and sleep in Japanese futons all presented by a Nakai, a Japanese house maid. So, I was extremely pumped to jump into my traditional Japanese robe the minute I walked into the agari-kamachi (or entrance room). The ryokan did include being served by a nakai, a Japanese house maid who serves you green tea, dinner, breakfast and makes the futons ready for sleeping (Japanese sleeping quilts)The best thing about staying at a luxurious ryokan is the kaiseki dinner which is a traditional Japanese multi-course dinner with a wide variety of Japanese dishes consisting primarily out of vegetables with fish and meat all served on tiny dishes and in bit sizes. During the kaiseki dinner you sit on zaisu which are legless chairs which can be uncomfortable to sit on for non-Japanese people.The luxurious ryokan did include a fancy onsen (Japanese hot spring) on the rooftop which is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have in Japan.To do a proper comparison I stayed a cheap $50 hotel as well. Gaku Guesthouse offers a Japanese style room with sleeping futons, clean amenities including a laundry machine and a fancy Japanese bidet toilet but also a brand-new billiards table in the garage. Gaku Guesthouse is a great place to meet other travelers as well.I was surprised how quiet it was in the Japanese mountains compared to the inner city of Tokyo.Make sure to stay at least 1 night at a luxurious ryokan in Hakone to complete your journey to Japan. Japanese Wine Spa in Hakone, Japan Reformatt Travel Show 2019-04-16 | Yunessun Water Park in Hakone is one of the most bizarre water parks I've ever visited with areas ranging from a wine spa, coffee spa to a green tea spa and a Japanese sake spa. Apparently, it contains antioxidants to prevent premature aging and skin problems. Starting at the famous wine spa, after seeing so many photos on the internet I had to try it for myself. It is basically a regular pool with diluted wine, special wine events do take place 3x times per day during which they hand out wine tasting samples and throw a bucket of red wine over you.Besides wine you can also enjoy the coffee spa, sake (Japanese rice wine) spa and green tea spa. The jacuzzi area often has special themes ranging from ramen broth to a local green tea this time around. The Japanese girls I ran into at the wine spa were from Yokohama and very kind. I also noticed that everyone was on their cell phones taking photos and selfies. It's a true tourist attraction.They even have a gigantic outdoor water park with slides, waterfalls and indoor caves. The slides are really soft, making for a smooth slide down since they curve quite a lot in all directions. The last area worth mentioning is Dr. Fish, which are tiny fish cleaning the dead skin of your feet. In conclusion, Yunessun Water Park is a bucket list item NOT to be missed in the Hakone region. I would definitely combine it with staying at a Ryokan, the Pirate Boat and Owakudani Black Eggs at minimum. The quality of Japanese animation is top notch and has been unmatched ever since. Sadly, the Suginami Animation Museum is often overlooked by tourists but if you want to go back to your childhood memories be ready to be amazed by finding traces of classic cartoons like Astroboy, Evangelion, Calimero, Gundam, Samurai Pizza Cats, Macron 1 and Voltron.This video is a tribute to my childhood in Holland!The most prominent exhibitions at Suginami are the giant wall of fame which showcases all the cartoons animated in Japan from the 1950s all the way up to the 2000s.Right next to it you'll find famous Japanese animator desks and a massive popup of Evangelion and Bob from the Genie Family.Though animation first came to Japan in the early 1900s, it didn't boom until the mid-century. Whoever says Tokyo is expensive is an amateur traveler and is just doing it wrong. Most travelers go to Shinjuku, Shibuya & Ginza which are quite expense. Together with my friends Heather, Kelly and Bobby we enjoyed an incredibly cheap evening food adventures in Nakano.Start your adventure in Nakano by walking through the Sun Mall shopping street until you end up at the Nakano Broadway complex where you can browse through at least 30 Mandarake store. Mandarake is THE pre-owned comic book dealer of Tokyo since 1987. Every Mandarake store has a different theme. For the most unique Mandarake store head to the 3rd floor where you can enter a special shrine that sells vintage tin toys.The best part of the Nakano Broadway complex is the basement. Here you'll find gigantic cheap grocery stores with incredible products ranging from household items to dirt cheap fish and delicious sushi pre-made meals. Near the back of the basement you'll find the Daily Chico soft-serve ice cream store that sell this ridiculous 8 flavors, 40-centimeter-tall soft-serve ice cream cone which makes for hilarious selfies and sells for 480 YEN, $4 USD!In the evening I recommend you explore the extreme cozy back alleys on the east side of the Sun Mall shopping street. This area houses plenty of sake bars, karaoke shops and izakaya’s (Japanese drinking spots) but above all wagyu beef and steak houses. Wagyu is expensive fat marbled beef that will melt on the tip of your tongue. After some digging I found that Horumon Yakiniku offers the best bang for your buck. Their wagyu beef was mouth-watering delicious.Another place to visit is Terrie's Dog Cafe. Entrance is FREE but does require you purchase a plain tea or coffee with rates starting at only 300 YEN, $2.80 USD. Terrie's Dog Cafe is a shelter for rescue dogs so please do the right thing and support these poor little cuties.My favorite part of Nakano is the atmosphere, it is cozy, friendly and fun, especially on a rainy day. With the massive amounts of indoor shops there is something to do for everyone. Do not hesitate and make the 5-minute train journey just west of Shinjuku main station.In conclusion, Nakano is the definition of a cheap day in Tokyo. Especially for travelers on a serious budget. Do not pay tourist prices in the obvious tourist districts of Tokyo. Head out of the tourist comfort zone and explore the lesser known areas. You won't be disappointed!

Maharaja is famous for organizing Eurobeat, Hyper Techno, Disco 80's & 90's ParaPara dancing nights.Domino & Lolita gave a fantastic show with many popular songs from the Eurobeat series like Euroboy, King & Queen and Try Me. The dishes we ordered:- Blowfish Sake- Blowfish Salad- Blowfish Sashimi- Blowfish CookedThere are over 120 different species of Fugu and they contain Tetrodotoxin or TTX for short which is a 1000x times more poisonous than cyanide which was used in suicide pills during world war II strong enough to kill an adult human within a few seconds.TTX is a neurotoxin which means it damages the nervous system and is found in the Fugu's liver, kidneys, eyes, spikes and ovaries. If poisoned, the victim will experience a paralysis of face muscles, followed by nausea and unable to speak until you are completely paralyzed. Death occurs shortly after.Only chefs who have trained for at least three years can prepare it legally since they have to remove the poisonous organs of the fish. Eating Live Squid in Tokyo, Japan Reformatt Travel Show 2018-12-25 | Looking for a unique restaurant in Tokyo? than the IKA center in Shinjuku is your spot and is one of my hidden secrets in Tokyo because at this restaurant you can catch your own squid. Squid fishing starts at 3400 yen, roughly 30 US dollars per catch. Our dinner included an entire squid, a big tempura portion and drinks which came to 9400 yen, about 82 US dollars for 3 people.The red water in the squid tank reminded me of the famous ocean of blood scene from the Japanese anime; Evangelion.Squids have jets to propel themselves and use it to squirt ink and the last thing you want is getting squid ink all over your clothes, that's why we jumped into a bunch of raincoats.Catching your own squid isn't that hard, you simply hook it straight out of the tank. Next, the squid is brought to the kitchen and freshly cut up into sashimi.They sealed off the dining area with a plastic cover to prevent water being squirted around the restaurant by the squids.Immediately after preparation, the raw squid tentacles are served, so fresh the squid tentacles are still moving on your plate.Once we received the fully sliced head we had to dip it in a thick sauce made from ground up squid organs.In conclusion, the IKA Center in Tokyo is a very unique restaurant worth a visit, especially for the eccentrics among us!Please help out the Reformatt Show by sharing this video on your Twitter, Whatsapp and Facebook! This massive city on the southern tip of Taiwan is a tropical paradise with tons of fun things to do, delicious foods to eat and mingle with its friendly locals. After you watch my video I guarantee you will put Kaohsiung on your bucket list.Kaohsiung is best known for the Dragon & Tiger pagodas located at the Lotus pond north of downtown, the most facinating thing is the zigzag pathway which is meant to deflect evil. Do make sure to enter through the dragon's mouth first and exit through the tiger's mouth to obtain good fortune. I stayed at the massive 85 Sky Tower hotel on the 61st floor with mesmerizing views of Kaohsiung.Cijin Island is located in front of Kaohsiung harbor, the largest harbor of Taiwan at which you can rent an electric buggy and cruise along its beautiful boulevard while making selfie stops at the Rainbow Church, giant sea shell and end your adventure with a lunch at the Windmill Station Sushi Restaurant.At the Windmill Station Restaurant make sure to order the gigantic chirashi bowl of assorted fish with high-grade uni, unagi and tuna. Make sure to top it off with Kaohsiung waffles! On the way back to the Cijin Ferry, make stops at the Cijin dried fish market, Cihou fort for the best skyline view of Kaohsiung and Mazu shrine.During the evening take the subway to Formosa Boulevard Station to admire world's largest glass art installation consisting of 4500 glass panels.For night markets check out Ruifeng Night Market located just north of downtown Kaohsiung where you must try the Gua Bao with juicy pork belly, chicken on a stick stuffed with sticky rice and bizarre chocolate chicken for the ultimate night market experience.To really venture out, go to OLD TAIWAN restaurant which is a themed 1950's Taiwanese restaurant with incredibly local dishes. The dishes truly tasted like they were cooked with love by grandma Taiwan, a great delicious alternative to night markets.Kaohsiung has a fun and vibrant nightlife, for an epic night out check out bars; Black Dog, an expat bar and Brickyard for their underground dance off parties, foosball tables, pool tables and great local atmosphere. The best nightclubs in town are Muse Kaohsiung and LAMP Disco which often hosts all-you-can-drink parties with a young local crowd. Not much English is spoken at these nightclubs so be aware.In conclusion, Kaohsiung made it to my Top 5 list of favorite cities in Asia. Most likely due to not having any expectations and being blown away by the tropical climate, delicious local dishes, friendly locals and fantastic parties. Tainan became a top priority on my bucket list for the simple reason that it was found by the Dutch in 1624. The city is home to Dutch VOC fortresses Zeelandia and Provintia which were massive fortifications for its time. I visited Tainan to find the remnants of my ancestors since I am Dutch myself.Tainan is known by the Taiwanese as the food mecca of the country due to its many locally grown produce, from epic mango shaved ice desserts to Chun Sui Tang - the original restaurant where bubble tea was invented but also its delicious beef noodle bowls called dandan noodles at Du Xiao Yue.My first stop was the Dutch Fort Provintia where the Dutch VOC's (Dutch East India Company) administrative heart of Taiwan was located. I was blown away to learn that the foundation of all these Dutch forts was made with a mortar recipe containing crushed oyster shells, sugar and sticky rice since cement was hard to come by on the island.In the evening I went for dinner on the ancient Shennon street which is gorgeous during the evening for its small historic shops and cozy atmosphere. At a local street restaurant I went all out and tried their bizarre local delicacy; grilled chicken butts. One place where you should definitely eat is Du Xiao Yue, the oldest noodle shop in Taiwan founded in 1895 and order the Dandan noodles! Alternatively, try their milk fish, rice eel and incredible fried shrimp rolls. Let's not forget about the delicious beef soup and beef tongue and Win Chang restaurant..The highlight of my visit was Fort Zeelandia, a massive Dutch VOC fortress on the Anping peninsula which the Dutch held onto until 1662 when the Ming Dynasty sent Koxinga to take over Formosa (Taiwan's original name) and banish the Dutch. Fort Zeelandia showcases a huge collection of Dutch artifacts from that time period. If you want even more Dutch history, check out the Merchant House for many ancient Dutch maps and VOC ship scale models, additionally visit the incredible treehouse, a warehouse completely engulfed by nature.My favorite object was the scale model of Fort Zeelandia, the sheer size was absolutely mindboggling. The Dutch were besieged by Koxinga for 9 months which left them with no other option than to surrender after which Taiwan became Chinese territory and the Dutch retreated back to Batavia in Indonesia, nowadays known as Jakarta.Tainan doesn't really have a big nightlife, for good parties you'll have to go to either Taipei or Kaohsiung but luckily Tainan has one major nightclub called MUSE Tainan where I had a great time drinking and socializing with the locals. For just 700 NT ($25 USD) it was an all-you-can-drink party. Make sure to visit a night market with a lot of friends for a hilarious evening.My friends from the USA & Canada had a blast, we even tried the bizarre pig blood cake at the Tonghua night market costing only 30 NT or $1.00 USD. Pig blood cake rolled into peanuts and cilantro, a very odd flavour, definitely an acquired taste.The Taiwanese street foods are so incredible cheap you just take a bit of everything you encounter and save the rest to snack on at your hotel or hostel.My favorite Taiwanese street food item was the stinky tofy, althought the black pepper pork bun and pork belly bao came very close.It is often difficult to locate these street foods in a country where no English street signs or shop signs are present. Please do climb the stairs in good physical condition especially on a hot hummid day in summer. There were a few occassions on which I almost fainted due to exhaustion.Elephant mountain is quite the tourist spot, everyone loves to take inspiring selfies and photos on this special rock due to the epic views. Taiwan Street Food: Eating Duck (Food Challenge) Reformatt Travel Show 2018-05-22 | I love duck, it is one of my favorite meats so in today's episode we are going to the Lao Tian Lu (老天禄) duck store in the Ximending district of Taipei to buy a huge collection of everything duck pieces ranging from all kinds of braised duck, namely: duck tongue, duck feet, duck head, duck liver, duck wings, duck hearts, duck gizzards and duck intestines.The duck tongue was very strange, I felt like I was french kissing a duck while eating it, the meat is actually really good.It was a lot of fun trying and reviewing all these unique pieces of duck, my favorite part being the duck liver, it was nice, soft and creamy.
