There is also a YouTube video showing the young and talented Akim Camara playing for the world renowned violinist and conductor Andre Rieu. However, the piece was incorrectly referred to as Mendelssohn's Dance of the Fairies. The incorrect label has resulted in interested folks being unable to identify and find the piece; a pity for such an endearing piece of music.Here's my version for the solo piano. For folks who are curious, the original violin score's semi-quavers cannot be played in the same way on the keyboard. If attempted to, the piano playing will be most labored and unnatural. Although the violin score was written in semi-quavers, the melody line can be articulated equally well in quavers and at a lower tempo. As a result, the required technical skill is inevitably high. The advanced pianist will find it easier for sure.I have opted to play back on MuseScore because I am certain that the amount of time required of me to make a decent recording on a real piano for a piece this long would mean that this transcription may never be published. I have chosen the Salamander Grand Piano soundfont because it is the best option available for MuseScore. I first heard it at a violin competition and was awed by its beauty.
