hey, I finally got to upload something on this channel in 2024! sorry as per usual for the lack of activity over here, and I hate to say it but I don't know how much better that's going to get. irl circumstances have all but prevented me from having any of the freedom for the loads and loads of unpaid work that goes into making YTPs of my particular style with no current sign of things getting better anytime soon, and I'm gonna be brutally honest, my regular old motivation to keep up this channel at all has been at an all-time low lately, especially in the wake of the infuriatingly pointless drama surrounding this particular collab's late release. watching so many little kids (and maybe even an adult or two who really should've known better) get unreasonably angry and/or act so mean-spirited over the 5-month delay for this collab not only REALLY struck a personal nerve and got me actively angry, lashing out at them in return in various comment sections, but also briefly made me wonder how much it's really worth it to even bother having promised something that's taken over quadruple that wait so far and with barely anything to actually show for it, if this is how some of the people who follow my channel are going to act around other creators' delays which I still don't think were even close to as unreasonable. for the record, I have TECHNICALLY started editing the first chapter of the TRFC finale, but I've only got about 10 seconds of it done so far which isn't much more than an initial title screen, I may as well not have started yet and at this point I doubt I'll be getting that first chapter out before Christmas like I wanted to. idk what to tell you guys, I just haven't felt like making YTP at all in what feels like ages, and on top of the abovementioned irl circumstances having changed and given me even less time for this than ever before, ever since The Return To Rio finally came out I kinda stopped getting the level of creative fulfillment out of YTP that I used to and I burned out on these kinds of videos pretty hard, I'm a few steps away from finally throwing in the towel and announcing my official retirement. HOWEVER, to make it abundantly clear, I have NOT given up on the idea of finishing TRFC yet and until that finale is finished I will NOT be officially retiring. the TRFC finale is basically the only new YTP thing left that I actually have ideas for, and a pretty sizeable google doc of them, no less. I imagine when that finale is finally done and all the parts are out however many years from now then I'll have no less than a half hour of material if not more, intimidation at the scale of what I had planned might be more of a factor in my lack of motivation to work on that particular project than anything else just as has been the case with so many other YTPers from the generation and scene I came up within. maybe I'm being stubborn to the point of delusion at this point, there is a part of me who envies someone like DrHotelMario who finally admitted to himself that his plans for The Rosen Venture's ending had become unsustainable and gave up on it for his own mental health, but I still feel like this series deserves a properly closed up ending, I still feel like it's within my power to pull off, and I still feel like y'all deserve to get some actual closure for how long you've all been putting up with me and supporting this channel through everything (and just for the record, don't worry, I've only been working on YTP when I actually had the energy for it so this channel has never actually been an active drain on my mental health. at least aside from the time I tried to also tie my music creation process into the equation and composed the full original soundtrack for Return To Rio, that was rough and I'm never doing that again), so... yeah, thanks once again for all the support and understanding that people have thrown my way, I'm committed to make it worth your while someday even if I still don't know when.
also tbh this was the first time in years that I watched through the birthday collab in nearly its full entirety, and it actually put me in a good mood, felt like old times and might've led to a little bit of that old YTP energy coming back. we'll see how much that amounts to, but big shoutout to TWM YTP for all the hard work he put into that and all the other entrants that helped him along the way
