Recently I was challenged by fellow YouTuber Daz, cojonesdeloro, to rescue his badly damaged Japanese SEGA Mega Drive. To add to the problems, his console was also what is sometimes referred to as an Asian PAL Mega Drive. Basically an originally Japanese console which has been "converted" (butchered) by a third party distributor to make it compatible in the Asian market. These conversion were generally done on the cheap and it's common to find missing components and overall extremely poor workmanship on the mobo.
Daz's console not only had issues stemming from a poor conversion but also a massive crack almost splitting one whole corner off the board! In this video I try to rescue the console from becoming just another "parts board".
