YouTube content creators are winning the AI search game. New data from Jellyfish finds that YouTube creators appear in more than one in four answers generated by AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini. That is a massive share of the AI search results, and it is not evenly spread across every type of video. The assistants are favoring niche creators who make videos longer than ten minutes, which tells you exactly where the opportunity sits right now.

If you are not making long form YouTube content in 2026, you are losing ground in the AI search game, and it is only going to keep getting worse the longer you wait. The reason AI assistants keep pulling from YouTube comes down to format. Ninety four percent of what is showing up in AI search engines is long form content, not short form clips. Long form video reads as authoritative to these systems in a way that shorter content simply does not.

The opportunity is about answering real questions. The creators who win are the ones making content about the most common questions people are asking inside their niche, the questions people actually need help with. That is what AI assistants are pulling from and citing back to users. It is not about chasing trends, it is about building a library of answers that AI systems recognize as useful.

If it was not the right time to double down on YouTube in 2025, it is definitely the time now in 2026. The window to build authority in your niche before AI search fully matures is open, but it will not stay open forever. Creators who start building long form libraries today are positioning themselves to be the answer AI gives tomorrow.

Get on YouTube, make the long form content, and answer the real questions your audience is asking. That is the game right now, and the creators who show up consistently are the ones who will own their niche inside AI search. See you there.
