You can now become a YOUTUBE CHANNEL MEMBER here on History Calling, but how do YouTube channel memberships work? Well, it means that for a set fee each month, you gain access to perks including members-only community posts which provide extra history content and behind-the-scenes info., custom badges featuring ancient runes next to your name in comments which will change depending on how long you’ve been a member (try Googling ancient runes to find out what they mean) and member-only emojis to use in comments. There is also member recognition underneath videos and on the channel homepage, but this is automated by YouTube, so I won’t be picking certain people to appear or not appear. YouTube will notify you when I publish new posts.
You can become a member by first signing into your Gmail account, then clicking the Join button underneath videos, or on the channel homepage. The cost is £2.99/month (or the equivalent in your local currency) and you can cancel at any time.
YouTube channel memberships do not replace my Patreon site, where even more bonus material is available, nor will my regular YouTube content be going anywhere. My long form videos will still be released each week and will still be 100% free, as will some other community tab posts. Memberships are just a fun little extra for those willing and able to join, but if they’re not for you, please don’t worry, you can still get extra free content from me by signing up to my newsletter on my website, historycallingofficial.com.
