Ashley Abid's poem "My Place of Refuge" won 1st place in the College Category for Day One's Youth Voices Network's 6th Annual Writing Contest. This year's theme was safety.

Day One partners with New York City youth to prevent and end dating abuse. Through preventative education, free and confidential supportive services, legal assistance and community programs, Day One helps young people make healthy choices from day one of dating.
