On Children and Youth Day at COP30, we spoke with Max Genin, North American Chair of the Global Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) Association.
Max underscored the vital role of young people in high-level climate negotiations, noting:
“It is really important that we’re not just included in the space, but that we’re heard, we’re listened to…So, as I sit here at COP, I’m particularly focused that those accountability measures are in place, that we have adequate representation and resourcing, and that the climate agenda remains ours for our and future generations going forward.”
Youth voices are essential to shaping credible, ambitious climate action and ensuring that commitments translate into meaningful impact.
