We discuss Youth Dating Violence & Awareness in this session under our Youth Connections Café. Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens from the University of Calgary who is the Associate Professor in Psychology & the Scientific Co-Director of PREVNET joins HOST Lynne McIntee to raise awareness.

Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens is an Assistant Professor and Tier II Canada Research Chair (Childhood Health Promotion) in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work, and is jointly appointed to the Department of Psychiatry, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Dr. Exner-Cortens is also a full member in the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI), the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, and the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education. She is also the scientific co-director of PREVNet, Canada’s healthy relationships hub. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and a Master of Public Health.
