Stuff Smith plays an amazing solo on his own composition "You'ze a Viper". It's a challenge to play - go ahead, try it - this backing track is to help you do just that.
Stuff Smith was a brilliant swing violinist and one of my favourites. Unfortunately, he didn't live nearly as long as Grappelli, dying at the age of 58 in Munich, and didn't record as much either. He also didn't cover as many jazz standards as Grappelli, recording many of his own compositions, but those that he did leave us reveal a completely different, rougher but equally brilliant, super-hot style!
