So, why wouldn’t we choose behaviors that bring God’s blessings? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson shares what Proverbs teaches us about abundance and poverty. He discusses the importance of work and generosity, as well as the biblical definition of abundance. It can be easy to slip into laziness or selfishness, but Proverbs tells us clearly what the products are of those behaviors. We have a variety of mistaken notions about love, but we can go to God’s Word to understand the truth about this topic. Pastor Allen teaches from three stories—humanity’s fall in the Garden of Eden, Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, and Jesus’ death on the cross—to show how our Lord’s best for us can often look like boundaries, disappointment, and hardship.
