In this video, I show you how to set a static IP address on Ubuntu Server 26.04 using both the beginner-friendly terminal GUI method with nmtui and the manual Netplan method. If you run servers, Docker apps, Plex, Pi-hole, Nextcloud, Proxmox VMs, or anything self-hosted, you do not want your IP address randomly changing and breaking your setup. By the end, you’ll know how to find your network interface, choose the right static IP, configure DNS and gateway settings, safely apply Netplan changes, and avoid common mistakes that can lock you out of your server.
