The television... That big black square on the wall that most people just... accept. But what if it could actually be a design moment? Because it absolutely can with just a little bit of effort.
Here are the things I see going wrong ALL the time. First, the console table. So many people put a console under their TV that is SMALLER than the TV itself and it looks so top heavy it makes me crazy. Get a console that extends PAST the width of your TV on both sides. Now you have breathing room, you have a surface to style and suddenly your TV looks like it belongs in a thoughtfully designed room instead of just hanging there awkwardly. Second... the height. Your TV does not need to be up near the ceiling. I know, I know, the fireplace is right there. But if it means you are cranking your neck every single night to watch it, that is not the right spot for it. And finally... PLEASE hide your cords. Nothing will make a beautifully designed room look unfinished faster than a cord hanging down the wall. Nothing. 😩
So tell me, which of these mistakes are you currently living with in your home right now? Be honest! Drop it in the comments
