Not So, Sou - Remixer Commentary
Sou Hiyori is probably (and unsurprisingly) my favorite character in Your Turn to Die. I feel like he’s one of the most interesting subversions on the typical murder mystery rival character I’ve ever seen. You genuinely have no idea what he’ll do next, and I find that sense of dread and mystery intoxicating. I wanted to incorporate that in his theme, so I moved it up to D minor since it feels more…outwardly sinister and a bit bratty, in a way. Most of the percussion and drums in the first section is made from my recordings of construction that was happening outside my house at the time. As for the main melody, You’ll notice that it is an altered version of a certain motif. This leitmotif also recurs throughout the soundtrack. What it means I will leave up to your interpretation.

Your Turn To Die Remixed is a playable music mod that I’ve been working on for over a year, it is compatible with both the Steam and non-Steam releases of the game, and features 16 arrangements of some of the songs in the soundtrack.
