That original, epoxy-filled Commodore 64 power brick is a ticking time bomb. When the 5-volt regulator finally takes a dump, it's taking your beloved breadbin with it. While the Amiga CD32 power supply used for the 1541-II floppy drive fails a bit quieter, it's still aging hardware that will eventually die.
