Everybody says the Ninja 500 is slow because it only makes 45 horsepower. I don't think the engine is the problem. I think it's the suspension. So we pulled the forks completely apart, put in an Andreani Misano Evo cartridge kit and a Nitron rear shock, and rode the exact same road again to see what actually changed.
Short version: the bike is not faster. It just stopped fighting me.
WHAT WENT ON THE BIKE
Andreani 305/K18E Misano Evo 2 fork cartridge kit - $770

Setting your rear preload for your weight: free, go do it today
Fork springs and heavier oil: around $210 all in, and it gets you most of the way there
The full cartridge and shock setup is the ceiling, not the entry point. I did the expensive version so you could see what the top actually looks like.
