Image scanning won't catch a container that's been hijacked to mine crypto — because it's running something that was never in the original image. Containers should be immutable, so when Microsoft Defender for Cloud detects "binary drift" — a process the container was never built to run — it flags the runtime threat that scanning and posture alone can't see, down to the process, file, pod, and cluster.
