While it may be ultimately subjective, I offer my argument for why you should use the finger I do. I also go through several of my slides with a short review of each. When you have these two decisions made and out of the way, you can REALLY focus on practicing and getting the feel for slide guitar down pat. If it just isn’t working, switch something up—go to a different slide, or a different finger. I have lots of slides and have tried lots of different ways to do this. I think the connection to our anatomy is pretty cool and strengthens my argument for how I play slide, but lots of people who are better slide players than me choose differently. So, take it with a grain of salt. This it what works for me. Hope it helps you, too!
