The BMW F80 M3 & F82 M4 are getting olderβ¦ and this ONE issue could leave your car sidelined for MONTHS due to parts delays! We just diagnosed a classic rear drive shaft failure on a customer's high-mileage M4 π±
Watch the full repair breakdown:
π Grease leaking from CV joint boot (early warning sign β no noise yet, but failure imminent)
π Both rear drive shafts replaced preventively (genuine BMW β one already failed, the other close behind)
π New output shaft seals, circlips, end nuts, protective collars + fresh diff oil
π Major rear suspension strip-down (no DIY β requires BMW special tools to avoid damage)
π Why it's happening: Aging CV joints lose lubrication β wear β clicking/knocking β total failure (can wreck diff too)
Similar to E46/E92 failures we saw years ago β now hitting F8X cars hard over 100k miles. Parts took 6+ months to source in some casesβ¦ proactive fix saves thousands in downtime/damage.
If your M3/M4 has mileage piling up, get this checked before it strands you!
