This is a song from a brilliant musical I wish more people knew of. Long story short, Sarah becomes pregnant by the man she loves. He leaves her and she is forced to give birth to the baby boy alone and terrified. In her panic,confusion, and pain, she buries the baby alive. The baby is found by the family who lives on the property where she buried him and he is miraculously still alive. When she is reunited with him, she sings him this song and asks for his forgiveness...
