During the Everyday Tee CAL, one of the most common struggles was matching gauge exactly.
And sometimes the difference looks so small that it feels like it shouldn’t matter.
For example, 20 sts per 10 cm instead of 19 sts per 10 cm may seem close enough — but across the full bust, a garment meant to measure 94 cm could end up around 89 cm.
That’s why it helps to understand what your gauge difference is actually doing:
More stitches in 10 cm = a smaller garment
Fewer stitches in 10 cm = a bigger garment
And if your gauge is slightly different, it doesn’t mean you can’t make the pattern. You may be able to choose another size or adjust the calculations using your own gauge and measurements.
