In the early 1980s, Citizens' Band (CB) radio exploded in popularity across Britain. Antennas lined every street, and the airwaves were full. But this boom created an immediate and relentless epidemic: CB radio theft.
Before mobile phones and the internet, CB was the first taste of instant, free communication for ordinary working people in the UK. But with rig prices equivalent to hundreds of pounds in today's money, these radios became primary targets for thieves.
