11/15/2020. This is about the failed comet ATLAS from Spring of 2020, NOT any other. ATLAS is a discovery program and many comets are named after it!
Well unfortunately ATLAS has dimmed, broken apart, and will likely vaporize as it plunges near the Sun. But that won't stop me from having fun with this anyway! Welcome to Your Astronomy Sucks #1. I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to launch a "Bad Astronomy" show where I can pull apart pooly done movies, news articles, comments, or facebook posts, but then turn them into something informative and fun. Astronomy is fun and awesome, and fixing mistakes should be great entertainment.
