Younger Skin After 40: Exactly How to Combine Your At-Home Devices
Red light therapy, LED masks, radio frequency, microcurrent, EMS, PEMF, gua sha, ultrasound, vibration devices, dermarollers and microneedling — there are more at-home skin devices available than ever before. But which ones should you actually use, what order should you use them in, and which devices should NOT be combined on the same night?
In this video, I break down exactly how I think about combining at-home beauty devices for women and men over 40 who want firmer, healthier and younger-looking skin without turning their routine into a full-time job.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is people buying several good devices but then using them randomly. More is not always better. Each technology has a different job, and the order, frequency and combination can matter just as much as the device itself.
I’ll walk you through the major categories, including:
• Red and near-infrared LED face masks
• PEMF
• Gua sha and facial sculpting tools
• Lip, mouth and targeted LED devices
• Vibration devices
• Under-eye devices
• Dermarolling and at-home microneedling
• Radio frequency skin-tightening devices
• Ultrasound and combination technologies
• Cooling and cryo devices
I’ll also show you how I would build a beginner, intermediate and more advanced home-device routine, so you can choose the technologies that actually make sense for your skin rather than simply stacking everything together.
For me, an LED mask is one of the foundational technologies because it can fit easily into a consistent routine and pair with many other treatments. On more advanced treatment days, however, timing becomes important. For example, I prefer using LED early in the routine as a priming step rather than waiting until after I have already irritated the skin with something like microneedling.
