Near Jamestown Island was the Paspahegh Indian village, which was part of Tsenacommacah the homeland of the Powhatan people. The Paspahegh and their allies launched an attack on the Jamestown colonists on the 26th of May 1607. During this skirmish several of the Paspahegh lost their lives, and a young English boy was slain. Nearly twenty years ago excavations in James Fort's 1607 burial ground found the grave of a young English colonist. Next to the skeletal remains was a stone projectile point. In addition there was damage to the boy's shoulder region suggestive of an injury. The following video takes a look back at this discovery using archival footage.
