This young green turtle deserved better 🐢💙
Found stranded on the NSW Central Coast, this turtle was tangled in fishing line and netting for so long that it has suffered severe injuries to both front flippers.
Now in our care at Taronga Wildlife Hospital, the turtle is receiving intensive treatment and care as our team works to give it the best possible chance of recovery.
Sadly, discarded fishing line and gear continues to injure and kill wildlife. Please dispose of fishing line responsibly and take all rubbish home. For this turtle, it could have made all the difference.
For this little turtle, the journey ahead is uncertain. The best outcome? Preventing stories like this from happening in the first place.
