Aussie Garage | You Won't Believe These Insane Ford Cobra Secrets! Part 2 @AussieGarage | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
On todays episode we dive back into Peter's collection of fords. This time we look at his 1973 Ford Cobra Jet Mach 1 Mustang. And a pair of Aussie Cobra's one old school and one new school. first up is the Mustang. Peter bought it from a company that was going to make it a promotion car for their performance division.
However that didn't come to fruition so it came up for grabs. When Peter got it it had been painted already and needed assembly and some trim work. After unpacking the 40 odd boxes he got with the car he spent about 18 months getting it put back together. And what a car it is now.
This is Peter's favourite car to drive out of his collection. it's loud and mean sounding. He had a specific sound he was going for and he and his exhaust guy went to it and it sounds great. Jet black paint with silver cut-out on the bonnet, Torque Thrust wheels with huge boots on the back, tinted windows and that mean stance this car is a beast. It's running a 351 Cleveland, c4 gearbox and 9 inch diff. A great car. The Horsepower -Unit of power in these cars are incredible.
Now to the Aussie Cobras. What a pair. These two cars were born 3 decades apart and represent the technological advancements of that period in time. On one hand the mighty XC Ford Falcon Cobra Hardtop. An iconic car from the 70s that was a true muscle car of its time. With a 351, FMX, gearbox 9 inch diff combo it had all the fruit of the day. It was restored back to original spec by the precious owner and presents like new.
And on the other hand we have the BF GT R spec Cobra. Peter got this one before the XC. It belonged to a friend of his and he swapped a mustang he had for it. This car had all the mod cons of its day. In Peter's opinion they got a lot right with these cars. there comfortable they handle amazingly they have plenty of go from the 5.4 V8 engine. They give a really great driving experience. as far as performance and handling goes this is the car to drive. Peter is unfortunately thinking of putting these Aussie Muscle Cars for sale soon but we wish him all the best.
It has been great to catch up with Peter and hear his stories behind his amazing collection of cars. There is something for everyone in this group of cars. Old, new , performance, luxury, such a great mix. Thanks so much for having us Peter.
