I never thought I'd be able to get this close to a Woodpecker with my camera while it pecked the daylights out of a tree searching for an insect it could hear under the bark. Makes for good pet entertainment. Your cat will go nuts when it see how close I get to it. They hammer on trees to attract other woodpeckers and they hammer on trees to find hollows to build a nest for their soon to be woodpecker hatchlings. This woodpecker didn't have a care in the world as I got closer and closer and closer until I was just over a foot away! Makes a great pet entertainment video for your pet.
