Our Lead Pastor, Whit George, continues week five of our teaching series, The Life of Abraham.
In Genesis 17, God gives Abraham the sign of circumcision—but the deeper story is about grace. Before Abraham ever obeyed the command, God had already counted him righteous by faith. Justification comes before sanctification. God doesn’t declare us righteous because we’ve earned it, cleaned ourselves up, or proven we’re worthy. He declares sinners righteous because of the work of Jesus. And once that verdict has been spoken over us, we spend the rest of our lives learning to live like it’s true.
