For superponyridur's round 3 contest

clip explanations (please read?):

1. OMF 4/25/10- Effie, Children's Hunter Ponies
This was one of my first shows ever with effs, she was beyond perfect. We had won every single class and gotten an 80 for a score in this round. It was the highest score i have ever gotten and I was so extremely proud of her.

2. Shallowbrook 6/13/10- Pons, $1000 M&S Children's Jumper Classic
This was my first big show with pons, and it was my first time ever jumping him on the grass, in my first ever big classic. He was beyond perfect and we ended up going clear after having some disappointing rails earlier that day. After the jump off, we ended up getting 3rd against some huge horses, and had one of my first victory gallops.

3. CHJA Medal Finals 8/20/10- Effie, CHJA Children's Hunter Classic
This was effie's first time ever in a medal finals, and definetly one of her biggest shows. She had never had a shadbelly on before, and was pretty new to the grass ring. There was a huge white tent next to the ring and I didn't even think I was going to get around. Little did I know, that this 5 year old would give me the best weekend of my life. The only thing that could tell you her age was her coloring, and even though we didnt get in the ribbons, only very very small errors that could have been prevented with more experience stood in her way. I will never ever forget this.

4. Folly Classic 10/2/10- Effie, Handy Hunter
This was effie's FIRST ever handy hunter (she had even barely done any rollbacks/trot jumps etc beforehand). Once again, after having a bad morning, I didn't even think I was gonna get around. As soon as I got through the gate, I knew that she was listening to me 100%. Even though we didnt get in the ribbons, I came out of the ring in tears from being so happy and proud of her. Literally, in tears. This was my last show ever with her, and my last time riding her. I will never ever ever forget her.

Pons- Reserve Champion Pony Jumper Zone 1 (USEF)
Pons- 3rd Children's Jumper (CHSA)
Effie- 10th Children's Hunter Pony (CHSA)

I've learned that goodbyes will always hurt, pictures never replace having been there, memories, good or bad, will bring tears and words can never replace feelings. Sometimes there are things in our life that aren't meant to stay. Oftentimes we say goodbye to the person we love without wanting to. Though that doesn't mean that we've stopped loving them or we've stopped to care. Sometimes goodbye is a painful way to say I love you. Sometimes change may not be what we want. Sometimes change is what we really need. And sometimes saying goodbye is the hardest thing you think you'll ever have to do, but sometimes it's saying 'hello again' that breaks you down and makes you the most vulnerable person you'll ever know. Sometimes change is too much to bear, but most of the time change is the only thing saving your life.

So thank you, Pons and Effie, for giving me the time of my life.
