Most peaks in the Appalachians can be reached by walking, whether it's allowed or not. One mountaintop is different--you couldn't walk there even if you were allowed to, and neither can any other animal that isn't really good at flying or climbing up sheer rock faces. This mountaintop is genuinely cut off by huge cliffs from the land around it, with its summit representing a tiny lost world that has likely been isolated by the cliffs for an incredibly long period of time. Interestingly, Andy Griffith used to talk about it too.
