You cannot fix, rescue, or stabilize another adult human being. You were never meant to.

What you can do is decide what you will and won’t allow in your life. Boundaries aren’t about controlling them. They’re about protecting you.

Breaking the cycle starts with short, firm boundaries like, "That comment was disrespectful. I’m stepping away now."

No lengthy explanations. Because those explanations? They’ll just twist them and use them against you.
