Catherine Gu on moving institutions onchain:

“I’m never a believer that blockchain is trying to kill the existing finance and just get something new. You can’t.

Think about all the billions of people who rely on banking infrastructure today. You cannot kill all the banks and just create new ones. Because ultimately, what does that even mean? You’re just replicating the same thing.

To me, it’s more about onboarding the existing ones. It’s the transitioning. Yes, some transitioning might be more violent than others, but I think it is a matter of onboarding all of the existing tradfis.”
